  • Civic Center ice

Anyone know if the Civic Center has taken any measures this summer to reduce the court sweat from the ice? With Monday nights exhibition at the Carver Arena, the temps outside are expected to be in the high 60's. I certainly don't want to see any slip injuries.

I think that last year, the PCC stuck to their line that all slips happened on an area where a sweaty player dove, but did not get wiped up. I guess they had a few video examples proving their point. Since then they became more vigilant in getting all sweat marks mopped up..

You gotta be kidding right? I know when I'm playing hard I'm sweating all over the court in large drops. These guys are in super shape so I'm sure they are sweating in buckets. Carver is a nice arena but something has to be done about that floor. If nothing has been looked into I'd be mad if I was JL.

Well if everyone brought some salt, we could have a post game party and
everything would take care of itself.

It's our new home court advantage as our players are donning skates.

I was at Carver Arena Wednesday and was thinking about this, too. It looked like they were using a different type of insulation boards between the ice and the basketball floor. Maybe this was intended to help prvent to condensation?

I'm sure with today's space age insulation material there are ways to prevent the condensation from happening. I just hope that they were not cheap and purchased something that actually works. I know of a material that is a fairly thin plastic like material that provides second to none insulation but is quite pricey. Here's to hoping that they did the right thing!
