Patrick was moved to the inactive list along with Sam Cassell and J.R. Giddens. Bill Walker, who had been on inactive, is now an active player, though he didn't play.

Very strange! When the Celtics played the Rockets in pre-season POB played Yao Ming pretty good. I'm not to sure what to make of this. If he is going to make it in the NBA his heart needs to be in it and if not for his sake he needs to find what he is passionate about and stick to that after this season."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

I wouldn't place Doc Rivers in the same category as Don Nelson. This is either on Patrick or the Celtics may be playing at something for next year.
Best case is that maybe Celtics are wanting to play Glen Davis more to increase his value and trade him later. Then they keep Patrick because they see value in him long-term.
Or worst case is that this is entirely on Patrick for not doing enough in practice. I don't think Rivers has any problem with playing less experienced players. He's letting Rondo start at point and giving Glen Davis big minutes afterall.

I think it is up to Patrick to earn his chance; kind of the same thing I feel about our bigs( someone has to step up and prove that they are the man for the job) ; Salley may not have been the best basketball player but he was the toughest of the bunch last season and that is why he got to play.

That's just my point. If Patrick doesn't practice hard enough he wouldn't play for any coach. He's not established as a star and, with some coaches, be allowed to get by with that. I would hope he's not just counting his big bucks, as some posters think it's the most important thing, and starts working hard enough to be a success in the NBA.What part of illegal don't you understand?
