  • ISU guard may have broken foot

Sophomore point guard Alex Rubin may have a broken foot. If so, he could miss 6 weeks.--

With the prior loss of Kenyon Smith, this leaves them even thinner at PG.

Yep, it's official. He will undergo surgery tomorrow and miss 6-8 weeks. That's 3 big injuries before the season has started.

Now we're quite thin at the point. Hopefully Phillips will be ready, cuz he and Holloway are gonna log a lot of minutes running the show. Also, there was some speculation on how/when/if Eldridge would see some time at the PG spot this year. Well...maybe sooner rather than later in lieu of Rubin's injury. He and Sampay should be ready to suit up around the same time, hopefully by the first conference game.

there is evidence that Kenyon Smith is still at ISU although I haven't seen any official word on it...(per the McLean Co. Public access database)

Wow.... that is the definition of too much time on your hands... a speeding ticket and expired registration... he better be suspended for half the season if he comes back next year!!!!!!!

I agree that it's not the most serious offense, but how does a person let their registration expire and then decide to drive over the speed limit? Doesn't seem like a very bright person.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Actually the 1st "ticket" get got was in October for speeding and no insurance...

2nd "ticket" he got was for the registration...

so looks like he started carrying his insurance card with him!

HE NEEDS TO BE SUSPENDED NOW!!!!!!!!

I do not see any reason to be suspended. It's not like he hurt anyone except his own pocketbook. If you are going to suspend someone for being stupid then so many more players will be suspended. Then they'll stop letting fans in the door for stupidity. The coach may want to make him run a few more sprints and laps but suspension???? Save that for the guys that really are trouble makers.

Apparently you didn't catch on to my sarcasm... I don't expect any punishment for someone that A) isn't even on the basketball team... and B) got a couple of simple traffic citations

I thought as much especially since you are a Redbirdfan.... Living out west reduces your ability to smell out sarcasm. I'm not kidding on this one. You should see the faces of people out here when you use sarcasm. It took me a few years to tone it down.
