    HoopsIL.com's Preseason Awards, Part 3--

Player of the Year (Illinois)- Osiris Eldridge
Coach of the Year- Jim Molinari (I like Jim, but come on, let him actually win a game before heaping this kind of praise on him)
Newcomer of the Year- Alex Legion
Freshman of the Year- Anthony Booker (I actually think SIU has a couple other freshmen who will have better years)

A couple other names I can't agree with-
Kyle Rowley is one of their picks for All Freshmen Team. I have seen Rowley play, and I would be surprised if he isn't redshirted. He is a big kid with some talent, but he is overweight and out of shape and I don't see him playing much this year.
Marquis Young is picked on the All Newcomer team-- He is a 6'9", 290 pound big man from Mineral Area juco, who only averaged 3.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg last year. His only offer came from Chicago State. I just don't see him being much of an impact, even at Chicago State.

Here are Parts 1 and 2--

They actually have Dillard as freshman of the year.

Thanks for pointing that out. I looked at it quickly, and the way it was worded, I thought the FOY was Booker, but it's Dillard. I actually think that's more likely.

Freshman of the Year: Anthony Booker is the highest rated recruit of the in-state schools but his classmate Kevin Dillard has all the makings on the next future star at SIU-Carbondale. Dillard has the ability to score and distribute the ball and has a chance to slip into the Salukis??™ starting lineup.

Not after Anthony Thompson averages 9, 10 and 3 in conference play...
