It was safe to assume that Chicago Whitney Young would be the team to beat in the Chicago Public League this year with all their talent. But there is another power starting to surface. Former Boys to Men prep school coach Loren Jackson has resurfaced at Chicago Fenger High school. Fenger has never been much of a threat in the CPL, but according to Daniel Poneman, they may now be. A player who was once rated as the best Chicago player in the class of 2009 (and a one-time Bradley recruit), and who has all but disappeared the last year, Michael Haynes, may be playing for Fenger HS. There are also rumors about some other talented transfers who may show up on their basketball team. See Poneman's blog below.
Jackson also formerly coached at Julian High School and amassed a lot of talent there (including Mac Koshwal and Thijin Moses) but lost his job there when a scandal emerged about the eligibility of his players.
