I really like what WSU has coming in. I actually think WSU and BU will battle for the championship in the 09-10 season.
I really think this will be a growing year for BU. I like what they are putting together and think we can get something rolling next season.
I also haven't seen Les finish higher than 4th, and every year he has had either the best or 2nd best roster. I'm not bashing him, cuz I like him, but talent hasn't been his issue, road X's and O's has.
I really don't think he had the best roster last year, and the year before in 07, SIU and Creighton definitely had much better rosters/players for their system. I think you may be underestimating the rest of the league if you think it will be BU/WSU next year. I wouldn't be that surprised if BU is in it for the championship this year or next, but you really can't count out Creighton or SIU with the talent they have and will have as well. IMO.
Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford
Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.
I am putting this first because I believe I only saw one other person do this...but I STRONGLY feel that ANDREW WARREN will be the POY. Call it a gut feeling.
1. Creighton
2. Bradley
3. SIU
4. ISU Red
5. Evansville (sleeper team)
6. Drake*
7. ISU Blue
8. UNI
9. Missouri St.
10. Wichita St.
*I think Drake could be anywhere from 1st to 6th, but Emmenecker and Houston are much bigger losses than people realize. They didn't have the statistical impact that some great players do, but having watched them about a dozen times, I think they are the biggest losses for any team to overcome this season. Drake is my favorite non-BU team in the Valley, so I hope I'm wrong with my prediction!
Like others, think the top half will be better--no more intra-league parity to kill the top teams. In fact, I think it may just be the top 3 or 4. I am not sure where to put Drake either. I do not see a basis for considering them a contender, but then again, last year was a surprise, too, in that they were almost dominant. I think, if the playing time and match-ups are handled correctly, we could have a surprising non-conference start.

4. Southern Illinois--NIT
5. Drake
6. Missouri State
7. Northern Iowa

Creighton, ISU red, SIU, and Bradley all have an equal shot and I would expect them to be in the top four. Everyone else...mabye next year. I do predict Evansville will NOT be in the play in game.
