Lets take it easy on SS during this early practice season....seems like this is when he gets hurt during practice diving for loose balls! Also hope SM's leg injury in nothing to worry about?:

I get that sense that Theron Wilson could have one of the better all around seasons for BU in awhile. The guy rebounds, is unselfish at the offensive end and actually plays defense. He can play a half court game or uptempo. It just seems unorthodox that you could find this type of player from the juco ranks. His only weakness seems to be his outside shooting. Hopefully, that has improved (I do realize he shot around 40% from 3-point land, but teams didn't guard him to shoot at all around the perimeter).

Tornado - I think you mean to say that DN and EM are getting "educated" on a regular basis. "Schooled" makes it sound like they are getting beat constantly.

I found the bit on Taylor Brown intriguing. Some may forget that he's not the 'typical' freshman, as he's a year removed from high school and already had a half-season of JUCO experience. I'm not expecting anything big from him this year, as there are quite a few folks ahead of him, but nonetheless it's good to hear that he's impressing early. As the freshmen alluded to several times in the article, nothing compares to the intensity of DI. Good stuff.

I would expect older players/veterans like Maniscalco, Dunson, and Roberts to beat them regularly. They're more mature physically. By year's end I suspect one or both of the freshman guards to be able to hold their own. I recall Rob Dye getting 'educated' by an older Eric Roberson daily in practice when Rob was a freshman. By the same time the next year the two were equals, and great compliments to each other.

I found it interesting also that In Jim Les's press conference a few days ago he mentioned that Taylor Brown at first thought he was going to be "the man" here at BU but then realized how talented you have to be in order to play d-1 ball. I am glad he has high expectation of himself but also realizes he will have to work extremely hard tobe a great player on the D-1 level. After reading the article it seems like TB might have actually have the potential to be "the man". Probably not this year but hopefully in years to come!!!

I'll never forget the game against Vanderbilt down in South Padre....Theron was a beast and kept BU even early with Vandy in the first half and THEN he picked up 3 quick fouls 2 of which were very cheap. IF memory serves me correct they were all from the same ref. That ref actually called a technical on JL for leaving the box at the OTHER end AWAY from center court. I have NEVER seen a coach get a T so early in the game leaving the box AWAY from the play. ANYWAY he,Theron had to sit and BU got buried....UNTIL the second half where he was actually allowed. He was a defensive and rebounding machine outworking Vady's big that were 4-6 inches taller and easily 50-75 lbs heavier.

BU all but made the comeback except were denied because of ANOTHER cheap call on Theron.

More games like that from him and he will indeed have a great year.

This article was the type of article that I like to read. This is why I like DR's articles. It is informative without any of the garbage editorial pot stirring that we get from an other writer. I love it when the media gives us the unvarnished facts and has faith that their readers are intelligent enough to come away with an accurate conclusion.

                  dogs,

If you remember correctly during warmups before the Vandy game that official came over to a BU asst. coach and told him about not being out of the box. I knew the T was coming for Les, it was just a matter of time. I don't know if the asst did not warn Les or Les ignored it. Anyway, it wasn't a surprise.

If he (KW) wants to be negative, fine. (Some people think that the only way make someone else better is to constantly criticize. Not the stuff of most great leaders., but..)

To me the biggest problem was writing no more info about Bradley than most national previews. And we can tell that most of those national previews only think about Bradley in the exact minute they are typing Bradley into their preview. Really, KW could of used the quotes in this DR article to prove his point about the freshmen, (amazed at practicing harder and faster than ever before), but did not bother to write his case up.
