  • BU @ ISU red Game Time Changed...

NORMAL, Ill. - The start time for the Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, men's basketball game between Illinois State and Bradley on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena has been changed to 3:05 p.m.

Originally the home game against Bradley was scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. tip.

Thanks for the update. That seems like a really weird tip time, but I'm sure I'll be there nontheless.

I hate afternoon basketball. Even worse at Redbird having to trudge miles to and from car with nothing near the arena but a few dorms.

Saturday games are best tiping off at 8pm and giving everyone time to get "prepared"

If they're adjusting the game for a potential national TV appearance, I wouldn't complain.

That seems to be the most logical explanation.

More logical than Redbird scheduling "Disney on Ice"?

Yes....everytime I go to Redbird it confirms why I'm happy to be a Braves fan. As nice as it would to be on-campus the surroundings the our downtown arena offers is priceless IMO.

Park close....stop at one of many good pregame spots.....walk a short distance to the game.....walk BACK to postgame spots and discuss another thrashing of ISU with friends over cocktails.

Considering Redbird Arena doesn't have a sheet of ice under the floor, I don't think that's a possibility.

And did anyone really think Bradley would be playing home games around Easter last season? I thought this was all hashed out when it occurred ...

Bradley ISU game over in normal is always a late afternoon tip, at least historically it normally tips at 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

Yeah, Well historically BU and ISU don't play during break either, but that didn't stop the MVC from doing it.

That tip time has ESPN2 written all over it.

The MVC owes us and ISU one - they better get it done.

The "deuce" would be nice, and ESPN does like to play up rivalries.
I was wondering, since our local CBS normally gets the game in Normal, is national CBS a possibility?
Of course the MVC has no problem stepping all over previous locally broadcast games..

                          Uhhh ... I wouldn't count on it.

Does anyone know when rivalry week is...

They play a ton of rivlaries that week... usually around the time with Mizzou/UofI, Duke/UNC... Michigan/Michigan State- etc etc....

If this is the same week- we could def. be seeing this game on one of the ESPN family of networks.

That's the first thing that came to mind for me as well. I believe "Rivalry Week" is somewhere near the first week in February so we just may be kicking that off!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
