Sounds nearly staged. Which I wouldn't put past Rand and his cronies. Then "happened" to have VD over that night. The truth will come out, and I know the BU administration isn't going to let this one fly. All 3, even the unknown, will have what's coming to them.

I bolded a comment of yours which really says something.

What's really scary is putting one's personal agenda ahead of the police doing their job. I'd like to think that this was the first time a nonsensical noise violation took precedence over a felony, but my guess is that this isn't the first time our honorable councilwoman has abused her power.Onward and Upward!

This is Nothing, you haven't seen/heard anything!
Council Women, Council Men, there is no difference. I worked closely with both for many years (38 ) in two city's. Last fifthteen in P town. Yes I worked on issues with this council woman (before she got in office) and her ex-husband. They are two of the same Both are out of the same mode and thats just why they cannot live together. Yes ex-husband, is the same guy who brought his pet parrot on his shoulder to a council meeting, was accused of keying a woman's car, cought with a lady of the night and much, much more. I can go on forever about all of them who I worked with. One long time excouncil man that lives two blocks from BU has some real good story's. Lord, if you only knew. Some made the PJS. There is not one that does not carry a story with them. Trust me, theres allot worst then this. So I say, This is Nothing, you haven't seen/ heard anythingThere is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

This story just keeps getting better!
There is a new PJS story now that has information from another police report on the incident that says Van Auken called a Peoria police lieutenant, Bradley VP Gary Anna and Mayor Ardis.
Van Auken also said to campus police, "I'm Councilwoman Van Auken," the report states. She then proceeded to call Bradley police officer William Merritt a "jerk" and Bradley police Sgt. Nora Fales a "liar."
She didn't stop with calling the officers' names. Van Auken poked Fales in the shoulder with her finger. She also complained to Fales that campus police were not doing their job and that they were not "real" police, according to the report.
Included in the story is this little jab from Ardis:
Ardis said he has not seen any police reports from the incident, and all he's heard is hearsay. He added the media coverage of the melee has been "sensationalized . . . as would be expected."
You stay classy, Barbara Van Auken. I'm surprised she didn't tell the police she has many leather-bound books and her apartment smells of rich mahogany after she informed them of who she was.
Tornado, do you still think "the PJS is giving strong support to her side of the story?"

Originally posted by tornadoscouter, I think they have now swung the other way and begun to report this more like the National Enquirer.
Put it in the local section where it belongs. It is a neighborhood dispute. There are 100 a day in Peoria and the police even get called to probably 30-40 a day.
Now I am convinced someone just wants to whip this into a story to get more hits on their website.
Now that I am also in the website business, I can relate to that lure......
But, I am going to leave the whole story alone, as a personal protest saying "this is a non-story, let it die".

It still baffles me that anyone would think that buying a house near fraternity row is a good idea.
The neighborhood wanted to do something against an easy target and the councilwoman screwed it up. Unfortunately, that's the normal result when anybody from the city council gets involved.

You're free to think it's a non-story, but the responses from most people on this thread seem to think otherwise. Would you want this woman making decisions for your local government?
