    Team

Franklin is a nice player, but I don't think he is on level with the Funks, Ahearn's, Young's etc.

And with the exception of Ahearn, all of those guys listed could play PG for long stretches if necessary.
Just remember Cpacmel there is no "I" in Team. I'll take our combination of 2-guards over any in The Valley. Each of our guards may not have the individual talent of any one particular player that you mentioned (though i again say Ogirri is the only one I'd take over Franklin for all-around play), but as a combination I'll bet their overall stat line (this includes defense) is better than most Valley teams' same 2-guard combination.

I'm looking for another convincing sweep of those dreaded Redbirds. Last I checked the all-time series advantage is Bradley 57 Wins -- ISU 45!!

In all honesty, I don't see either team sweeping the other for a while at least. I think over the next couple seasons, the home team will be victorious.

Bradley has lost a ton from last year's team. They have some good players returning and some talented newcomers (more in '07) and the Redbirds return some decent younger players with a very good (on paper) recruiting class for '06.

Sweeps in this series just don't happen very often, regardless of whether the talent favored heavily to one side or the other. This is a classic case for the cliche "throw the records out the window". That is very true for both of us and why we share the best rivalry in the Valley and one of the best in the entire Midwest, IMO.

Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

Let's just hope they aren't fighting to stay out of the Thursday games when they meet next season. I think both teams could make the middle of the pack, and have a chance to go a little higher.

There is no way their overall Stat line is going to be better than Young's and Tatum's.

Careful DannyC when you tell Illini fans that. I am sure they believe the Illini/Mizzoo rivalry is as big as UNC/Duke's.

(I agree with you DannyC - just taking my daily pot shot at UIUC - my life would be empty without it - )

I can only assume that you disagree with my statement Grassman?

I guess we'll have to evaluate what I said next April to see if I'm correct.
                YUP!
                And yes we will.!
That being said, If I were like, the George Steinbrenner of college basketball. I would trade any of our guards, any day, for 1. FUNK,2. TATUM 3.Oguirri (sic?),. I would have to think about Young, he is pretty inconsistent.

As far as being optimistic, I am extremely optimistic about the Braves long term future, just concerned about the near term!
But then why shouid that bother you guys, as far as you folks are concerned, I am like SGT. Shultz in Hogans Heroes. "I know nothing."

This statement sounds eerily like several we had heard over the past year or so....
                      remember these...

"...if Patrick O'Bryant is a lottery pick I'll cut your grass for a year..."
"...there is no way Bradley is a better team that Northern Iowa..."
"...Ruffin isn't even the best PG on his own team and certainly isn't one of the best in the Valley"
"...JL cannot possibly get this team to play well enough to be an NCAA caliber team..."
"...OE will be the best player ISU has from the first moment he sets foot on the flloor..."

                        And one more--

"words mean something- Jim Les has not kept his promise to take Bradley back to the NCAA, and win some games in the NCAA tournament, and have 1000 people waiting for them when they return to the Peoria Airport."

that's right, then there were those who said-
"he'll never get Bradley back to national prominence"
                          and
"all the other leading candidates for the BU job back in 2002 will coach a D-I team to the NCAA before JL will..."

I appreciate that as well. I can't stand U of I or their legion of 'closet' fans. I'd love to see you guys get a shot at them in the Sears Center. If the 'Birds don't play that day, I'd love to sit with you guys and cheer the Braves hardcore. I'd love to see one of us beat them.
