Wichita State has gotten a verbal commitment from 6'7" Jerome Hamilton, a 2009 kid from Sylvester, Georgia. He is currently rated as a 1-star forward, but Scout says this--
Hamilton, a 6-foot-7 forward, attended Wichita State’s elite camp over the summer and followed that up with an official visit this past weekend. According to his AAU coach, Curtis Wheeler, one of Wichita State’s assistants played a major role in the decision.
“He picked Wichita State because of his relationship with Earl Grant and he thought the facilities were better,” Wheeler said. “He wants to help Wichita get back to where they were a few years ago when they went to the Sweet 16.”
Ultimately his decision came down to Wichita State and Southern Illinois. But he also had strong interest from Winthrop, Murray State, College of Charleston and Georgia State.
