SIU-Edwardsville released their schedule for 2008-2009. This will be the first year competing as a Division I school. They will join the Ohio Valley Conference in 2010-2011.
Coach Lennox Forrester will be playing a tough schedule. They have games at Bradley (Dec. 23) and Evansville (against former SIU-E coach Marty Simmons), and also at Wisconsin, Missouri, and Iowa State.
They open the season against The College of Charleston at their Charleston (S.C.) Classic, which also includes East Tennessee State, Temple, Clemson, Hofstra, Texas Christian and Western Michigan.
They have additional road games at Ball State, Middle Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Loyola, Missouri-Kansas City, Southeast Missouri State, Wisconson-Milwaukee, Seattle, North Dakota, and South Dakota. They finish the season playing in the North Dakota Tournament. They also play 10 home games.
