There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

Nice try at flaming this board.

If you are delusional enough to actually believe your own silliness, then you are welcome to go watch the outstanding basketball at "the Y".
By the way, exactly where is "the Y"?
I agree that there is some good ball played at local high schools, and they could use your support.

But there is only 1 place to see high Div I level basketball in Peoria. And that is with the other 10,000 people who will be watching Bradley at Carver.

Maybe you would prefer to drive down I-74 and watch the fine games at ISU.

And so you agree with the analysis that there is better ball played at "the Y"?

        Please, get serious.

No. . .obviously it's a post in jest, not a flaming attempt.

Maybe it was a weak attempt at humor, but I laughed.

We have been spoiled over the last 10 years or so.

It is easy to toss statements like this around, but I would challange you match this schedule up with a handful of Big Ten or SEC teams non-con schedules over the last several years and then comment.

Not dismayed. . .the schedule is as was anticipated since last year.

But it can not be the trend if you want to continue to prop up those attendance numbers.

4 HL teams (thankfully Loyola asked to postpone the game a year so we have only 3) was NOT an uncontrollable factor.

Furthermore, most college basketball schedules are done year to year, unlike football that is done years in advance.

But due to several contractual arrangements a number of games were carried over in JL's first season.

And looking at the teams on the schedule as a result of Molinari during JL's first year:

UNLV, Central Michigan (2nd rd NCAA team that year), IUPUI, and Chattanooga.

                As a result of JL:

Arkansas-Monticello, Butler, Loyola, and Pepperdine, and the Rainbow Classic (Hawai'i, Alcorn State, and Chicago State).

Not a critique of JL in any way. Just pointing out who was responsible for which games on that first sked.

Maybe I'm just a "glass half-full" type of guy, but I am looking forward to several of these games...

UIC: I was at the drubbing last year at UIC Pavillion...in fact I brought 12 friends to that game, most of whom were college (IOWA) friends who only attended because they wanted me to shut up about getting them to a game in Peoria. It was quite embarassing to lose that game in the fashion we did, despite some questionable calls (6 carrying calls if I recall). PG Josh Mayo lit us up for 34 pts, then after the game said he thought it was comical that people thought that DR was better than him, so he had to prove otherwise. I can't wait for him to get embarassed in Peoria this year.

ETSU: We've had some friendly banter with our friends from ETSU here on BradleyFans, so I look forward to showing them why Bradley's homecourt advantage is a step above anything they'll see in the Atlantic Sun.

Butler: Is always a good team and could end up looking like a quality win if we can beat them. They lost a lot from last year's team, but have a solid class coming in as well as F Matt Howard who made our bigs look really bad.

SIU-E: It will be great to see Lennox come back to Peoria as his school is introduced to probably one of the toughest crowds they will play for all year.

We don't have the flashy Michigan St. and Iowa St. names from last year, but its not the weakest schedule we've ever seen. I can't wait for the season to start.

So the trick, in essence, is to win....

                          The Y

There is a YMCA off of Willow Knowels that used to be downtown. There are some good games on sunday afternoons and every once in a while ex BU players like Summerville come up there. BU is smart though in scheduling the way they did. The MVC will be hard enough. They just need to sweep the non-conference schedule and win a couple of those tourney games and they will get another 20 win season.

                          on a side note:
I still think SLU should have joined the MVC instead of the A10. I would love to see Rick Majerus and JL go at it and they both have 2 of the top soccer programs in the midwest.

I think SLU soccer is more established than Bradley soccer

Random and kind of off topic...sorry
