Lurker, surely you know, that "KC Pump N'Run" is based in Kansas City (the "KC" stands for Kansas City"), and....
surely you know that the Kansas City they are referring to is NOT in Kansas, so this still doesn't constitute focusing on the "state of Kansas".
      Ya i gotcha...

I am not sure if it really means anything or is exactly and explanation for the above post, but their high school team has been compared to Grinnell, where they pretty much launch 3's all game. There are a couple of articles out there that talk about it. Like I said, it might not mean anything, but it does explain (at least IMO) why so many 3's are attempted.

Right now I like this match-up

Ekey was rated 40th best player in Missouri

Somehow Anthony Slack survived giving up 20 pounds to Matt Salley.

If worse comes to worse, we can slide Ekey over on Thompson. He is only giving up 8 pounds to him.

This might be part of the reason for Jankovich offering a scholarship to Ekey so early, he just got a commitment Wednesday from his high school teammate, and much more highly regarded player, Justin Clark. Clark is a 6'4" shooting guard.

This would appear to take ISU out of the running for Washington guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards. I had heard Coach Jankovich really wanted him, but now with only 1 scholarship left, it appears they will go after another big man.

Since Holloway will be gone by then, the only three players ISU will have on their roster in 2009, with any PG skills will be Alex Rubin (who has barely played at all so far), Lloyd Phillips (who ISU beat out Montana and Troy to land & who hasn't played yet and who was more of a 5-11 TCS-type shooting guard in juco, and who will be gone after 2009-10), and Keyon Smith (who has never even put on the uniform yet). Are you confident that's enough depth at PG?Possibly by 2009 they will all will gain experience, but if one or more gets injured or gone, don't you think they will be severely hampered with lack of depth at that position?

That is the problem Porter Moser had in his final two years at ISU.
I'd have expected Jank to go after a PG with that final scholarship unless we are going to be hearing more headlines like this...but who knows...

I don't think Jank would have brought in Phillips and Smith if he didn't have confidence in them. Also, Osiris is still going to be there. Don't be suprised to see him running the point at certain times this year.

In regards to Rubin "who has barely played so far"- he actually saw alot of playing time towards the end of the year last year. He took over Odzic's spot in the rotation at guard, for the most part. (Odzic also showed to PG skills last year- he just couldnt knock down a shot).

In regards to Smith "who has never even put on a uniform yet"- that is what this year is for. He will be able to gain experience this year, to possibly run the point next year.

ISU will also have Landon Shipley (walk-on transfer from Austin Peay), that will add to the depth.

I think the real problem with Porter Moser wasn't having a point guard- it was the lack of an offense to run in general...

I think ISU will be just fine running the point this year- and years to come.

Assuming the Panty is correct is saying they will be going after a big man- it appears this is correct.
