As far as the "renegade' program I think the posters just more upset with Whellistone calling Bradkey that when we can CLEARLY see its happening as much if not much more at a program right down the road.
I would never come here and suggest any such thing. The love for the IL Athletic Program warms the cockles of my heart.

First of all... Thanks for coming back after the long lay-off. I've missed your input and always look forward to it.

But now regarding this post... C'mon Bert, don't you mean "the love for UIUC's Athletic Program"?

And now in a more sincere gesture - good luck to the (your) Illini Football this season.

Hearing MM mentioned on the Fri pm rebroadcast of Bliss always gets me set for the weekend. As for all the mini-IL microbrew programs, I only drink from the original O&B koolaide. All others are 'imitaters'. Luck is always in play, but it looks like IL football finally found a coach, or at least a recruiter. Now I'll shut up before people start to talk....

Presently he is still at UIUC working on his courses, but if he either stays at UIUC and completes his coursework this coming May, and can graduate,
or even if he goes elsewhere, either D-I and sits or D-II and then plays basketball and completes his coursework in May and graduates...
then either way, he is a graduate student, and the new NCAA rule then allows him to go to any other D-I school that'll have him, and be eligible immediately.

Therefore he could play his senior season anywhere that accepts him.

This is the rule that allowed Lon Kruger's son Kevin to go to UNLV from Arizona State and play immediately.

I thought they did away with this rule because of the Kruger situation...

If this is not that case... any idea what I am thinking of???

Lurker, I thought the same thing, but I could be wrong.

Yes, the rule was recinded by the NCAA.

Many AD's complained that it didn't make sense for a college to give a scholarship for 3 or 4 years to a kid, only to have him develop to the peak of his skills, then transfer and play elsewhere with no penalty. Also, the NCAA was afraid it could lead to abuses, like one school "recruiting" a scholarship athlete at another school.

That is surprising since the NCAA really didnt mind it when Broussard did that exact thing.

First things first, is it not a fact that, Jamar may be looking at jail time!
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!
