Decatur Christian is a small (high school enrollment less than 100), private school in Decatur, IL.
The school itself is not new and was founded in 1973.
They have never been a member of IHSA but have played against IHSA schools in various sports and are classified as an "Approved School" with which other IHSA members may schedule contests.
But in the next coming years Decatur Christian is going to try to build itself into a national power basketball school, scheduling games against some of the top programs nationwide.
They just hired a new coach, Alan Huss (who played collegiately at Creighton), and they already have a couple of decent prospects who are foreign kids going to school at Decatur Christian.
6-9 Johan Mpondo, Class of 2007, from the Cameroon
7-0 Alioune Diallo, Class of 2009, from Senegal
