  • ESPN article on U of MD basketball

A fair article on U of MD to all those GW haters. Would we treat JL the same if he won a Championship?

Remember Maryland's 2002 national championship? That was just about the last good memory for a Terrapins program that has fallen from grace with the loss of key recruits, key assistant coaches and a lot of games, writes Dana O'Neil.

There's also the the semifinal of the City High tournament. As part of the weeklong City High package, ESPN is giving SportsNation the chance to crown the top basketball city in the nation using a bracket-style tournament. Today it's Chicago vs LA !!!!! Vote now!!!

Thanks for sharing SFP. That was a very good article.

Many things I could expand on and relate to Bradley, but I don't have the time or desire right now.

    One thing, though....

There were a few mentions about keeping the local talent... and they are The Big State U... and they still struggled and missed to land some big time players.... for a team that had won a National Title not too long ago and playing in the ACC.

[and we have crackpipes complaining about Bradley not netting top talent from Peoria - jeezel pete]

        Good stuff SFP.

        Hey, the Chicago team:

PG Derrick Rose (Simeon, 2007) MEMPHIS 1 yr
SG Dwyane Wade (Richards, 2000) MARQUETTE 3 yrs (dnp as a Fr due to grades)
SF Corey Maggette (Fenwick, 1998 ) DUKE 1 yr
PF Julian Wright (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2005) KANSAS 2 yrs
C Eddy Curry (Thornwood, 2001) NBA (DEPAUL LOI)
Sixth man G-F Quentin Richardson (Young, 1998 ) DEPAUL 2 yrs

Too bad Depaul couldn't get all the great talent to stay home in Chicago.

And too bad NONE of the Illinois schools could convince them to stay home.
