Where will the Red/White game be held at?

  • #2
There has not been any decision. It is possible there won't be a Red-White game, or if there is, it would have to be at another local facility. Any guesses?

I'm all for a Red/White to be incorporated with a Soccer match this season. Kinda like last year's grill out with the hoops players at a soccer match. Put a rim or two up for guys to shoot at and dunk on. No scrimmages. Relaxed atmosphere.

What about the Riverplex? I know it can't seat 4 or 5 thousand but it could be a large standing room only event LOL. Or it could possibly be held at ICC's gymnasium.

How about the red/white game in Carver Arena? Why not....I know hockey has had some free practices there and so have the Blues!

Do you think Carver would let Bradley have the arena for next to nothing?

NO....but the parking is better and the frans should still be able to get in free! Let's face it....Bradley knew this was coming and they better not give us the "no red/white this year due to lack of a gym " speech...the fans want to see the new team!

ICC would be a good choice; Carver would probably be to expensive but if they are going to have one it would be nice to see a full 40 minutes with all the new players.

Maybe BU should go old school and have multipule exhibitions/practices at various high schools in the area. They did that during the Versace years.

Back in the Versace era a lot of those high schools were much safer then they are now, I doubt many people would go to some of those areas now to see a scrimmage.

I have no idea what high schools are or are not "safe" but I am guessing since they host a huge 3 day tourney that Pekin probably would be realtively safe, as would a game at Richwoods, Limestone and Id even venture to say Woodruff, Central or Manual would be safe for everyone. Since each one of those schools host many people through out the winter for all kinds of basketball games.

And I am betting regardless of what high school Bradley played an exhibition game at there would be plenty of people there to attend.

I am not sure exactly how to enterpret your comment other then feeling that way is pretty sad.

I dont think that you would get the best attendence for a red/white game at Woodruff, Central, or Manual. Houston, I like your multiple exhibition/practice idea though. Bradley actually played am exhbition game at IVC during the Versace era..

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

There is a good reason why people feel that way as all you have to do is ask the persons that work at Newman and Madison golf courses about how things have changed over the years; I would go but I know a lot of people that would not because of where those schools are located.
