On the advise of Steve Nash, Bulls free agent Chris Duhon has decided to sign with the Knicks. Nash, who played for Mike D'Antoni in Phoenix, convinced Duhon he should play for D'Antoni in NY.
The Knicks will give Duhon a 2-year, $12 million salary. Not too shabby for a backup point guard with an attitude who averaged just 6.9 ppg and 4.5 apg in his 4 years with the Bulls. He only shot 35.6% from three, and he had a tendency to sulk about playing time, oversleep, and miss practices while with the Bulls. I don't think the Bulls and their fans will miss him.
A funny line from this article--
In the city that never sleeps, he'll need to invest a portion of his $12 million in an alarm clock.
Duhon's signing might eventually allow the Knicks to rid themselves of Stephon Marbury and his massive salary. However, they appear to be stuck with him for one more season at $21.9 million. The Knicks are also reported to be trying to get rid of Zach Randolph and the $48 million they owe him over the next 3 years. Wow, the Knicks sure love to hand out massive contracts to talent with poor attitudes.
