Sounds like culinary school might be calling POB sooner than we thought.
    Onward and Upward!

Or stay and be exposed and never get the big pay day. He made the right choice by leaving this proves it even more.
      Can we start winning soon?

Yes I agree.....thats why the wink is at the end of my comment.....he made the right choice and should have some money put away for a rainy day....still there should be no negatives at BU because of POB situation....he made it to the NBA...

Absolutely...He would have been a fool to come back. It more than likely would have cost him millions of dollars. There is nothing in his development (or lack thereof) after he left BU that would lead me to believe that he would have become the kind of player that would have been a top 5 pick in either of the last two drafts.
He had a great showing in the NCAA Tournament, he put himself in a position to be picked in the top 10 that year...and he made millions of dollars because of it...and that is awesome for him. Now, he has money in the bank (hopefully), and it will allow him some freedom to pursue whatever it is that he wants to do with the rest of his life.

Sorry, I didnt read the wink right.

I agree, no negatives for BU, we had a player taken in the top ten of the NBA draft. That is a selling point no matter how he plays thier.

I wanted to wait and get a few replies before I gave answer my own question.....

While I generally agree with what looks to be the prevailing consensus that there's no effect on BU, I was wondering if anybody thought it could be spun in a "BU/Valley/non-BCS/etc. players aren't as ready as the big schools/conferences/BCS" manner. I think surely it can be, but would it stick?
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

I think it is pretty universally known that POB was not ready to go to the NBA when he did, that would be true if he were at any school playing in any conference.

Will people say the same thing about the Big 12 or A&M if DeAndre Jordan fails as an NBA player, probably not. Leaving early is about the player looking short term at all the money I dont believe it has anything to to with the school or the conference.

I think this has been, and always will be, the prevailing consensus that non-BCS players are not as good as players from BCS and Major Conferences. This will never change.

Of course, I also think this is the prevailing consensus about players that come out of Duke -- great players in the Duke system but not athletic or talented enough for the NBA.

The same can be said about players at IU under Bobby Knight.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Don't believe everything you read. By the way I think its pretty sh##### how some of you think that POB is bringing negatives thoughts to BU.

Thanks for clearing that up AV23! I felt that report had to be misleading from the start. The Celtics obviously liked what they saw with POB!

Now I am a Celtic fan!

Amen! Couldn't have said it better! Here's to a long pro career and continuing to bring credit to BU as a well-spoken, upstanding, and classy alum
