Patrick O'Bryant reported to work out today for Boston Celtics

Patrick O'Bryant won't be taking a 4th of July break. He is reported to be working out in Massachusetts today for the Boston Celtics, who are considering signing him as a backup center. See the next to last paragraph on page 2 of the article.--

I am not comparing them in any way, but Robert Parish started his NBA career at Golden State before moving to the Celtics.

Imagine learning from the likes of Garnett and playing alongside Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

I think Doc Rivers practically used every player he had as the situation called from them. He even played Glen Davis quite a bit at times, so I think POB would get a fair shot at PT if he can prove himself.

You are right. Correct that line where I said he never played in the finals. He did play for Seattle that year and they lost to the Bulls in 6 games. But Hersey never played on a championship team in the NBA.

That is a joke right? Even if he was tired that is not an excuse to be out of shape and not being able to get up and down the court for more then 15 minutes. If he is out of shape and trying to get a job that is extremely disappointing news.

The question is why would he be out of shape! He's young and get's paid a hell of a lot of money to get in shape. I hope this is wrong and maybe it had to do with something we are unaware of. If true he should just go to chef school and follow his passion because basketball is not one of them then.

Unless ALL of it applies, he should still be able to beat those "scrubs" if he really is NBA material. It sounds more and more like he's leaving the NBA. I haven't read anything positive about him in a long, long time. I hope he's getting a Visa ready.
