  • "Fans" can be brutal

Some Kentucky people (I can't call them fans) are so anti-Tubby Smith that they tried to put an ad in a local newspaper calling for his dismissal. The paper rejected the ad, but the furor it has caused has given these dopes the attention they wanted anyway.
Tubby Smith was 22-13 last year and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament 87-83 to Connecticut.
Smith's record at Kentucky is 241-71 (.772 winning percentage)and he won the NCAA National Championship in 1998.

When Tenn Tech came into town last season, I got a chance to ask Asst Coach Saul Smith (very briefly) about Tubby's 'hot' seat in Lexington. At the time, Kentucky wasn't looking like a lock for the NCAA and those "Kentucky Fried Chicken Blue Old Faithfull" weren't happy. Believe me - I have a few Kentucky friends, I know - they expect Elite 8 or Final 4 EVERY year.

Long story short, Saul said Tubby's seat wasn't hot, not even warm. He even stated Tubby is so secure, Tubby would leave Kentucky before they would fire him.

Saul Smith is a tool. When they were here last year I somehow managed to get in his head and he came over and threatened me. Bastard.
