He is announced to day as the newest addition to the New Mexico coaching staff as Men's Basketball Director of Operations

Steve Alford says...
"I have known him since we coached against each other in the Missouri Valley Conference when he was at Bradley and I was at Missouri State,
so we have a long-standing relationship."

Just a little humor this morning............

Steve Alford just made the public announcement on hiring Duane Broussard for a position that they call....
"Director of Basketball Operations".
But Alford states clearly that the one and sole purpose of hiring Broussard is........
"...my hiring Duane, was to have him help come in and really clean up this academic mess.???
"The Lobos had a dismal Academic Progress Rate under...Ritchie McKay, which cost them a scholarship last season."

But....wasn't Duane Broussard the top assistant coach, the #2 guy in charge,
for most all of the past 6-7 years during which this "academic mess" took place?
