IHSA Baseball - Class 2A:
The IVC baseball team lost in the 2A Championship game to Stanford Olympia 6-1.
In the afternoon semifinal, Chris Razo pitched a gem to lead IVC over Pinckneyville 3-2.
In the Class 2A title game, IVC simply couldn't get the clutch hit and left runners on in key innings. IVC finishes 33-7, and Olympia finishes 31-8.
Ken Studebaker, father of Andy Studebaker who was a football & basketball star at Eureka HS, and who just got drafted by the NFL Eagles, was one of the umps at the title game.
In the 3rd place game Pinckneyville's Kyle Cassity pitched a 2-hit shut out to claim 3rd place over Coal City 4-0. Cassity is verballed to Saint Louis to play basketball.
In Class 1A, Putnam Co. lost in the semi's and claimed 3rd place. Losing pitcher in the semi's, Kevin Fay, is brother of SIU's Carlton Fay, who was present at the game according to this Ben Diggle report.
