Article about quality control programs for ACC officiating.

    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I only wish the Valley would grade their officials out after each game and point out the mistakes that are made so that the officials would hopefully improve because they are being watched by a supervisor and could be replaced if they continue to do a poor job.

Your wish doesn't need to be granted.

      Supervision and paperwork occurs.

There was a stretch this season where the officials' "boss" was in attendance to "grade" the crew. Can't recall exactly when it was but I think it mighta hit the late January games involving E'Ville, ISU and Drake... can't recall so don't quote me on that.

I suspect the "boss" can't make every MVC game for every MVC team.

I also understand there can be some postgame paperwork - obviously when there are some major events (like fighting amongst players getting ejected which needs to be submitted to the NCAA).

I believe when anything controversial occurs, it gets fully disclosed to the NCAA .... could be anything from questionable fouls to corrections to gameclock and shotclock.

Other than inconsistency on high screens and carrying the ball, I thought the reffing was mostly quite good in the Valley this past season.

Just wanted to answer your request. There is a person at each game who does turn in an evaluation. Ours is a very qualified person who does the evaluating. The boss can only be at one site a night so each school has hired a qualifed evaluator. Hope that answers your wish.
