Some of the decision might hinge on who they hire as head coach, but I would be surprised if they don't take Rose.

Bulls get #1

I read that the Denver Nuggets might be interested in trading Carmelo Anthony for the #1 pick. I suspect the Bulls will have a lot of offers.
A trade might be the best way to rid themselves of some of their overpaid, underproductive players like Larry Hughes, and Kirk Hinrich.

Pat Riley is open to a trade. Maybe the Bulls can swing a deal and get both Rose and Beasley?

Speculation is more on the side that the Bulls will take Beasley--

This would be a dream scenario. Trade Deng, Hinrich, and Joakim Noah to the Heat for the 2nd pick and get both Rose and Beasly. WOW! That would be a blockbuster and would build the foundation of another Bulls dynasty. Throw in the Free Agent pick up of Patrick O'Bryant and now suddenly you have a contender.

They really don't need more young players. Just one player at the top of the draft would be enough. Remember the Curry and Chandler experiment? It takes almost all players a couple years to develop (unless you have Lebron), and it seems to be harder for players to develop on bad teams (Charlotte). While Rose and Beasley sounds awesome, it might take 5 years for that project to develop and the Bulls could give up on one or both after they fire Pax for being in the lottery ever year.
And we don't trade the pick for Melo. Maybe we would trade Kirk, Gordon, and an expiring contract (Gooden) for Melo after taking Rose. J. O'neal could be traded as well. Marion would look really nice in red and black too.
It does sound like they're taking Rose, but a lot can happen between now and the draft. It's going to be an exciting off-season for Bulls fans! #1 pick, coaching search, and almost definitely a trade.

How are these guys physically holding up?
I know Kevin Love already has back spasms. So it's not unheard of for a freshman to get injuries.
this MAY factor into a decision because the bulls need both of the positions that Rose and Beasley fulfill.
For me, Rose would be the pick. Kirk does ok w/ the ball, but he's not a dynamic player that can drive and score big. Great teams do that and win...case and point New Orleans.
I HOPE, we take Rose. Trade Duhan, Gordon, and whoever else it takes to get a true scoring center. that way Kirk can settle in as a number 2 point guard and get some quality minutes too.
A Rose & Hinrich running the PG spot would be great.
but, knowing the bulls and their track record...we're lookin at them making some dumb decision and ruining Chicago basketball's one time great name.Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

For one Chandler and Curry never played in a final 4 or averaged 25pts. and 12 reb. in the Big 12. Rose and Beasly did that respectively. Young players are exactly what the Bulls need. Shawn Marion is washed up and I highly doubt Denver would let Carmelo go. I think Rose and Beasley are too talented to take 5 years to develop. Your scenarios sound good, but Beasley is the real thing. I know that This scenario would never happen, but that's what I would be trying to do. The Bulls window closed with their present core of players that's why Skiles got fired. Young is the way to go and if the Heat are that desperate these 2 players are a great start.
You really think that the bulls need to get younger? They have no leadership, and their average age is 25.7 (6th youngest). I think that they really need a leader and a star (hopefully in the same player).
And all of this talk of a "point guard driven league" with C. Paul and D. Williams-they are at home. The Spurs have a dominat big man plus 2 guards, the lakers have a dominat G plus a good big man, boston has 3 all-star players (that have never won anything), and detroit is a team full of good players. Chicago tried to emulate Detroit after they won, which didn't work (probably since they don't have players as good as Billups, Hamilton, or Wallace), and now everyone wants them to model Utah and NO.
And Jason Kidd with a jump shot??? How many championships did Kidd win? Rose didn't win either (kind of reminds me of when the Bulls took Jay Williams...obviously different players).
How many PGs are the bulls going to take with a top 10 pick before they realize that they need some offense out of a big man to succeed? Thomas and Noah can combine for a lot of 2-handed dunks and no shooting.
Bulls taking PGs is getting to be like the Bears with QB.

I agree with TRIMAN!!!!! Beasley will be a beast. Think Charles Barkley but in better shape, taller, bigger, doesn't talk as much and not as ugly!
Everybody is talking about the point guard play but look at the Celtics, Pistons, they do have Chaucey but he's really a 2, Lakers, and do you think it is the guard play that has the Spurs where they are at. The BIG men are the keys to these teams."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Second Guard play is the the main reason the Spurs are where they are, Manu and Tony P are two of the best in the game. Note the Bulls didnt have a big man of much value for the last 6 championships. Can we start winning soon?
