  • CHECK IN - Basketball CLASS - Coach Joe Stowell

    Fans,
Did anyone out there have a PE basketball class with Coach Joe Stowell?
I learned a lot about ability, talent, and coaching just listening to the
maestro talk about the fundamentals. Coach Stowell was often happy to
stick his nose in it. LOLOL. One of my best classes..

???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

A little off topic, but did anyone out there attend Coach Stowell's youth basketball clinics? I attended Coach Stowell's camps and they were a very rewarding experience. JL was at some of those camps way back then as well!

Braveman, I loved that bowling alley in the basement at the old student center!

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Attended BU 1970-74. I was a PE major and had Stowell for both of those classes. The best was his volleyball class. We played commando with no rules. Many a day Symore Reed and Dave Klobucher had their feet taken out from under them during a spike from the other side of the net. Bball players were fair game. His basketball class was the best!!

I attended BU basketball camp in 1974 with Coach Stowell. It was July, and the fieldhouse was about 105 degrees during the day. I still have very fond memories of him grabbing kids by the ear and dragging them down the court if they were talking when they should have been listening.
