I think this situation-with BU likely having an "idle" scholy for next season opens up the only scenario where Tony Freeman from Iowa might end up at BU. We use a scholy that would otherwise go unused (unless the coaches have something to pull out of the hat) and we use it on Freeman. Still not sure it is a great investment-we only get one year out of him and I don't think we need yet another guard but he is a proven player in the B-10 so he would give us something....
I have not seen anything on Freeman lately-has he gone anywhere else yet ??houstonbrave

By the way, even if what TCS's father says is true, and I simply don't believe it for a minute, the coaches still have done nothing wrong. Coaches drop players all the time. I doubt there are many fans who believe TCS showed enough to deserve playing time, or to be on scholarship.
But I am not buying this late "parting shot" by TCS's father. If there was such a text mail, it should be easy to produce it for the media. And if it happened a month ago, why is it just being brought up now? And if it happened, why hasn't TCS, who the text mail was supposedly sent to, not ever said anything about it? Sorry, but it doesn't add up.
As I said yesterday, remember that it was Tyrone Cole-Scott who came to Jim Les and asked to be released from his scholarship back in April. If Jim Les wanted to get rid of TCS, he would have done it a month ago when he had a couple of outstanding recruits waiting for a scholarship to open. But, no, he kept the scholarship on hold, waiting to see if TCS changed his mind and decided to stay.

If TC-S was being forced out by the coaching staff, it would have happened at a time when the scholarship could have been used to sign a recruit during the spring signing period. Since no additional recruits were signed, that would seem to indicate there were no scholarships available.
Sorry...but the "facts" according to Mr Scott just don't add up to me.

This whole thing does not make any sense. I'll believe BU until PROVEN otherwise. Bradley had absolutely nothing to gain by doing this. Now if the freed scholi was suddenly used I would suspect something. But that is not the case. Given the circumstances, what purpose would it serve? In fact, it is a negative. It hurts BU's graduation rate and deprives them of a practice (worst case evaluation of TCS's ability) player. Even if BU did have a recruit lined up for the scholi, why not be up front about it?
It does NOT look like a duck, does NOT talk like a duck, and I do NOT believe it is a duck.

Regardless of what did or did not happen in the TCS situation, I think that it is pretty clear that we were recruiting over TCS with the Norris signing and the current signed recruiting class.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I still feel exactly the same way as I did yesterday with the whole miscommunication thing.
Was anyone else disturbed that the PJS put TCS' picture under that headline on the front of the Sports section?! His father was making these accusations that brought about that headline and they slap his face on the cover! I'm sorry, but that's horrible editing since everyone who just looks at the headline and the picture would think that TCS made parting shots at BU.

That's the problem with this whole "text-messaging" fad. It's impossible to convey emotions and communicate properly. I doubt lil Bish would be so stupid as to make a derogatory text message part of the "public record". If he did send the text that was quoted then I have no doubt it was simply misinterpreted as it could be taken one of two ways. Again, that's why I've never used text messaging and never will. IMO it should only be used in emergency situations.............but then again I'm a dinosaur

I'm guessing the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Programs do drop kids, but sometimes we like to think we're 'above' other programs. We're not, but that doesn't mean we're bad or that we're doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, this is a part of DI college basketball. We're not immune to it or above it in any way, shape, or form.
BTW - Maybe I am naive, but I believe what JL is saying in the article. Whether or not he had EB doing his dirty work of running the kid off is another story, to which we'll probably never know the truth. However, assistants doing the dirty work is another necessary evil of college buckets too. Who knows, maybe EB did this on his own because he really wanted BU to land a guy he'd been after to impress JL. Assistants do things on their own sometimes too - Sometimes good, sometimes bad.Onward and Upward!

I could see Bish texting..."IF you decide to stay prepare to work your a$$ off"....then TSC tells dad what he recieved. Dad "hearing" something different then the actual text.
IF I got that text, Dads version, I wouldn't have waited a month to raise a stink.
