I always thought this was a possibility. I just hoped we knew about it and had recruited to use the scholarship this year. I am not sure if that is the case though. All the players that I would know of by name are extreme long shots. Mike Burwell,Brandon Hawkins,Isiah Nunn. I am hoping someone has been promised this scholarship and is waiting for it. Another possibility is someone who is not supposed to qualify gets the grades and BU has an available scholarship. Or maybe a transfer, but that would not help for this year and the only way we are helped at all by Cole-Scott leaving is if we use the scholarship this year (he would be done next year anyway).

PS I was always really impressed by the fact that Cole-Scott was cheerful and seemed to be rooting for the team even when he wasn't playing at the end of the season. It frustrated me that he could never really break out when we needed his help. However he seemed like a good guy and I hope he gets to play at some level and enjoy himself.

Not a bad idea if we cant land a quality player.imo

I don't see how this would affect our 09-10 recruiting. He would have graduated by then.

The only way this could affect the 09-10 recruiting is if we land a 6'6-6'7
          forward/center with the available scholarship.imo

i was saying that i think we need a big to be able contribute for the 09-10 season. if we replaced TCS with a forward this year, we could see a capable big man emerge in his second year.

Best of luck to TCS. Always hoped it'd come together for him, but this may be for the best if he wants a better shot at some PT.

I wish the best for RT but I think he will probably be looking somewhere other than the BU campus for playing time.

Well, that's what happens sometimes when you take chances with Juco's. Great to see some have worked out for us over the years, but there is a risk. Bringing in one or two a season should not hurt us, but four is a bit much, but we had no choice last year. I think we still have a great core that should get the job done next year.

Hope everything works out for Cole-Scott ; would not mind using that scholarship on a good transfer player that would have 3 years elgibility; if we cannot get a good player late then I would like to see it saved for next season as I believe we have enough players for 2008-09.
