Does this answer the questions of those who questioned Les for saying "for now, we're done recruiting" ?

He was just leaving the option open because he didn't know if someone might be leaving the team.

Not to throw TCS under the bus, but the fact that he didn't show up for an individual workout with the head coach sure makes it sound like he wanted something handed to him rather than earning it.
      Bingo.

As recently as 3 weeks ago, the coaches actually had a couple quality recruits wanting to come to Bradley, but they didn't have any available scholarships. So those recruits signed elsewhere. It would have been nice to sign another player that could have helped us, but our coaches did the right thing, rather than forcing TCS or another player to leave just to "upgrade" that roster spot. Though the majority of D1 coaches do this, it has never been something Jim Les does.

I still think they're done. There's not many guys out there worth recruiting at this point. A 4 year kid who might be a redshirt candidate would be about all I would consider unless something unforseen happened.

I'm not really interested in this kid joining the program anymore, but perhaps this is the opening Matt Roth was waiting for. Who knows.

heck...I want some investigative journalist to dig into this...
sounds suspiciously to me like there are lies here, maybe something unethical, especially since done means done, and now there's another open scholarship.....
is this more evidence of a renegade program?
Where is Kyle Whelliston when you need him. Can someone email him??

As much as I'd LOVE to see Matt Roth in a Braves jersey, I think he has found a near jackpot situation at Indiana. By the looks of their depleted roster, he will be getting some quality playing time...albeit on what looks to be a very poor team.

not one month has passed in the last year that hasn't brought some new revelation, some new surprise or shock, or some player defection at Indiana.
How are we supposed to believe this pattern will not continue, and I think we are still in for a few headline stories out of Bloomington, IN.

I have not read all these posts, so if I say something someone else has said, I'm sorry.

I think the reason that TCS is leaving is because of the way SM played and he saw we have two bigger guards 6-3, 6-4 comming in next year with other smaller quicker guards too. Also we have wings that could play the two if our bigs develop. So I think it's as simple as he didn't see much playing time for himself next year.

The credits he has earned at Bradley are good, why not go somewhere else where he could get more playing time. Shows our program is strong. And wish nothing but the best for TCS and I hope his dreams come true.

The more I think about TCS leaving and if he left on his own, he really did not think this through very well. He was going to keep his scholarship, get two year of education for free at BU and possibly graduate with a degree.

He is not going to play basketball after this season, so to leave with one year left, his scholarship in tact and the chance for a Bradley degree really does not seem like a real smart life decision.

Playing basketball is one thing, and even more if you have a solid chance to make money at it, but when you dont and you get the chance for the Bradley degree and virtually for free, you take that option and run with it.

Exactly, I dont think he realized that he isnt going to get much better of an opportunity than he did here at Bradley. You have no eligibility left, delay your degree, and now have to pay for everything. I wish him luck, he's a good kid, but you were already on the greener grass

Why would Mr. Scott make this stuff up? Im not saying its true or not but what do you think his motive to lie is? If TCS was really going to be able to stay and the coaches were going to let him try to earn minutes why would his father make these statements? It seems strange to me that he would make up a specific story about an assitant coach sending a text message to his son.
                        Can we start winning soon?

Well...I would like to see proof of that text message. If it is indeed true, I will respect Eric Buescher as a coach even less than I do now. A month ago would have been right BEFORE the spring signing period, which could indicate we were trying to free up a scholarship. I'd say that if this is true, the staff handled this about as poorly as they possibly could. We'll see. Not good.

                          Just when I thought we'd have a drama-free offseason...what was I thinking?

This is all very interesting, but can we be SURE that this is actually TCS' father ...?

In all seriousness though, if EB did send such a text message, that's a gigantic embarrassment for our coaching staff, program and university. Heck, TCS could've filed a police report if it happened. I like to think nobody affiliated with BU would send something like that, but on the other hand, why would TCS' father make such statements if they weren't true? To save face for his son? That seems a little far-fetched.

It's hard to figure out who to believe ... unless TCS produces the text message.

now i'm certainly not saying i know anything but doesn't a text message like that sound like he was trying to pump him up for working hard to get better this off-season. hear me out.... so what if cole-scott was contemplating leaving because of playing time next season and maybe the coaches agreed that he would not see playing time unless he worked real hard this off-season. maybe cole-scott decides he wants to stay and says he'll work really hard to get playing time. this situation is THE ONLY TIME i think EB could say this and i would be half ok with it. maybe he was saying something like, alright i respect that but you need to know that it's gonna be like hell this off-season. basically i'm saying i can find reasonable doubt for this text message to have been taken way out of context by his father and other people if in fact EB really sent it.
