    This just in-

The NCAA infractions committee has announced they are appalled by the illegal benefits that OJ Mayo has received, and to set an example, they plan to tack on a couple more years of probation to the penalty that Alabama State will be given.

I am wondering how long before the US Government get involved with the NCAA and its multi million dollar industry.

The NCAA touts its self as fair to all members, yet they are very selective in their fines. punishments and even who/how they investigate. There is absolutely no uniformity to what the NCAA does.

I think it would be a wonderful idea for a Congressman to ask out loud why the NCAA conducts its business so differently when it comes to assessing punishment from one institution to another.

I agree with what you are saying, but....

... there is NO WAY the US Government is gonna "clean" things up.

You get the US Government involved with ANYTHING and it becomes more screwed up than a tangled cluster muck.

The only reason the US Government would want to get involved is for the MONEY.

The rest would become such bureaucratic BS that would ultimately bring college sports down.

My vote is to keep the US Government out.

Our Country is based on the Capitalist system - talent and hard work combined with unlimited opportunity can take you anywhere. When the NBA and NCAA choose to enforce Socialistic rules great Capitalists will always find a way to circumvent them.

DA Coach = Jerry Tarkanian ?

One of my all time favorite quotes regarding the NCAA was Tark's famous blast regarding the cash that fell out of the envelope at Kentucky --- The NCAA was so pissed at UK, that they gave Cleveland State another two years of probation.

                Another ex-USC player is trouble
Lodrick Schron Stewart, 24, was arrested and charged with battery following an incident early Saturday morning, police said. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. outside It’s Brothers, 1105 Mass. Stewart, a former Southern California basketball player, is the twin brother of Kansas University men’s basketball player Rodrick Stewart, who is graduating today. Lodrick Stewart […]

Lodrick Stewart is the twin brother of Kansas' Rodrick Stewart, and he is one of the USC Trojans who just stopped attending classes after USC made it to the Sweet Sixteen, and who helped cost USC in academic progress such that they got penalized.
