Starting at the center position, I don't think that JL would put Collins and Thompson in at the same time as they will need to replace each other in the lineup. Singh is solid but AT and DC will be the main guys at the center. I'd say to matchup with our opponents, Austin will play for the four due to size. Warren is a scorer so he'll play the two and Wilson is a great rebounder from the perimeter so I think we could use him best at the 3. Dunson has proven that he is a Big XII caliber guard and I can't help but think that he's gotten better. The coaches that have had him in the past have all talked about one common denominator with him, his positive attitude and work ethic. I'd put my money on it that he'll make this team go. I could also see SM taking RA's spot and moving to the 1, moving everyone else up one position when we want to go with a smaller lineup.
This would be a very, very good starting lineup with great bench strength. Thompson, Singh, Maniscalco, and Egolf would contribute major minutes off the bench. Will Thornton be ready to contribute also? Having a solid 3 point shooter come off the bench would be huge.

If I remember correctly, I believe that Les said that Thompson may be playing more from the 4 spot next year, because he has such a great mid-range shot. I could be wrong though. He may see time at both the 4 & 5.

Personally I think these kind of threads are silly at this time of year but here I am anyway....I don't think there is any way somebody starts at point over SM barring injury,or some other freak thing....he played too much point, knows the system for JL to start somebody over him in their first year at BU.....AW and TW will start probably and the rest is up the air

          Completely agree Lefty.

So to say it again.... IMO - SM, AW, and TW are locked in to start. Those are the 1-2-3 spots or the 1-2-4 spots.

Gonna be a long offseason figuring out who gets the nod for the other 2 starting spots... but not that long, I guess. Since we played into April and things get started earlier now in October... heck, May has started so count that month off and October is when it starts so you can't count it either... that leaves only 4 months for the offseason... it's gonna go by like THAT *finger-snap*!

Doesn't anyone expect Thorton to contribute next season? I had high expectations for him. Good size and a great shooter.

Why would DD start over SM, that makes no sense!

                  SM Freshman year at BRADLEY:
                  7.7 ppg, .417 from the field, 3.3 apg, 2.1 A/TO in 27.2 min/game

                  DD Freshman year at ISU:
                  5.2 ppg, .336 from the field, 1 apg, 1.1 A/TO, 22.6 min/game

And its known that Sam is a true leader and will be around another year the Dodie, and he's BEEN IN THE SYSTEM. Sam is also one of, if not the, strongest players on the team (at least bench-press wise). Guys, he's gonna start.

Amc, have to agree. When we were first recruiting Sam, I started following his progress in Chicago. We got ourselves a steal. But it's nice to have both Sam and DD.

AW and TW are the only true locks book that! DD will be given the chance to start at the 1. He is bigger than SM and if I rember correctly quite fast. I would also be suprised if our team does not press a bit more this year with all the depth we have 1-3 positions. This will help us negate some of our defensive problem that we will have with our bigs unless RA steps it up. SS will be SS and he will give it his all, lead by example but he's not athletic enough to be a difference maker. DC and AT do not have the body to pound the boards night in and night out. WE could and I mean could suprise us all but he is probably a year from providing us that consistant player we need now.

Lefy you are right, it is silly this early to try and figure out the starting five but what else do we have to do? If its silly but we are talking about Bradley basketball in May I can live with it.

Another silly question, can next years team be better than last years team? Do we move up the ranks in the MVC or fall back?

No Crouch or Ruffin.... a couple games over .500 in my opinion.

                          SM
                          CR
                          AW
                          TW
                          DC

I hope that I am wrong about my prediction

Its good to see that someone on this meaningless thread, can make real sense. We haven't seen DD even play and guys are jumping off buildings over him. We havn't seen Roberts play either, but he might have something to say about people playing in front of him. Also DD has a history of travel. Sam is the man and will end his 4 yrs. as one of the best point guards to play at BU!! Take it to the BANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                              thinking

                              SM
                              AW
                              TW
                              AT
                              DC or SS

there are plenty of options....unlike last season though we know about some options....

we know DC now and WE and RA and expect improvement in them...if they improve like some of our other past big guys did, after a year under their belt....we will be able to play a bit different this next season......I mentioned it before as have others.....

UP TEMPO AND PRESSURE TO THE HILT....we have the bodies..it should be fun....

I personally think it is probable that next year's team will end up with a better season record than this years. If you look at the last 2 years, you easily see we were better with point guard depth (NIT) than 5 spot depth.(CBI) Next year, we will have point guard depth.
