  • Bradley post players

I'm curious to know from bradleyfans.com posters which Bradley big man they think will be the best next year and why. It's not a secret that the inside game has been a problem the last two years.

Bradley has five scholarship players at 6'7" or bigger:

    Sam Singh
    David Collins
    Will Egolf
    Rashad Austin
    Anthony Thompson

I intentionally left Theron Wilson off this list. He certainly will play everywhere on the court next year and will defend big men, but I consider him a wing. Plus, he's better than any of these five right now.

I had to vote for Austin out of hope. I think we need a rebounder and he is capable. I would have said Collins but I am still not sure if he can sustain it. I hope so. I think sticks will be OK but not powerfull enough to rebound and play defense in the post(More of a forward).

I'm very surprised that the majority have selected Anthony Thompson who hasn't played a single game as a Brave yet. I am as optimistic as anyone, but its very bold to select an unproven freshman. He really could be the difference maker next year, but I selected Collins because based on what I've seen, he's been the "best." I really hope all of you are right, though!

In most cases we cant judge players before the play a minute of D1 ball but in the case of Bradley players we know how great they will be before hand.
        Can we start winning soon?

Thompson will have the availability to score more easily because of his size and quickness plus he should be able to block and alter more shots because he is 6-10 and has long arms, he just needs to be smart enough to stay out of foul trouble; if Egolf plays up to his potential our other bigs will be better because it will give us 2 players with a lot of size inside which would make them harder to guard .

Austin! With a full (extended) seasonn under his belt, plus a FULL summer with the team he will be a major force.

i've got to agree with you hawkeye. as much as i'd like to think thompson will be the best next year i voted for collins because we've seen some stuff from him and he's got a year of playing experience. he's also got a much better body to play the post than thompson. i am very optimistic for thompson the next couple years and he will soon take the top big man spot but not next year.

I voted for David, he's got at least a little experience and for the most part I love what I saw from him at the end of the season. I think he'll be a big contributor next year.

I look at the voting stats and am absolutely shocked! David "What-did-he-show" Collins? Anthony "We've-never-seen-ya" Thompson?

I gotta go (and hope) with Austin.....and that's based on what I've seen.

I don't think there's much point to this poll, but I'll vote anyways.

Based on past returns, I voted for Austin but I hope it's Thompson.

I voted for RA because we'll need an inforcer, banger, rebounder more than a scorer and I believe RA can fill that hole and hopefully AT and DC will play the 5 and than TW can play the 3.

I voted for AT and I THINK the reason AT is getting so many votes is because he is the only unknown. We know what the others have to offer and are HOPING AT is even better. If true, BU is better. Maybe just wishful thinking, but the Cubs are in first, too.

The point was to see if a player that has never played would be projected higher than the four players they have played and haven't shined.

I think for Rashad Austin to do well, one of the centers has to do well. A 6'7" power forward can do a lot in the Valley. A 6'7" center, not so much. Matt Salley would have been more productive if he could have played the 4 and not the 5.

Two of these five guys have to develop over the offseason if BU is going to do any damage in the Valley next year. If only one does, Bradley is probably back to the 4/5 game again. If none do, then it will be a long season in my opinion.

I voted for Egolf... I think we need Will to step up next year in the 4 spot to help out our centers.
                              also wanted to be different.
