  • When's it gonna happen?

Alright, I have a million things to do right now, Finals, Projects, Fraternity, Work, ResLife Staff... and I still constantly check this site. Why? Because we're gonna get another recruit(this is not a fact, but an opinion). I want to know when this is going to happen, and who it's gonna be, plain and simple. It's driving me nuts. Anybody else with me?

I suspect this signing will be of a Matt Salley type player. A smaller JUCO PF who has potential but is unfinished. Someone who can really help out, but will not likely be a star? Anyone else have any thoughts?

    I concur.

Something's sitting a little funny still -- Les isn't done yet.

Well, I'm always trying to get any BU info I can get, but you are overconfident that BU will be signing another recruit. I'm not all that sure it is going to happen.

I wouldn't spend much time checking to see if we sign someone until someone says they are leaving. We are maxed out right now.

Agree... I have a strange feeling that we are going to get a 6'6 plus
----four year forward who is a scorer and maybe a bit of a project....

I have no desire for a 'Matt Salley-type'. I have no desire to get a undersized JUCO big with off-the-court baggage who maxes out as a 7th man on a good team. If that's the best we can do then I am more than content with our current roster. The only thing I would be interested in at this point would be a true 4 year big man who may be a candidate to redshirt.

Quite frankly I am very happy with our current roster. We have a large number of returning players, and an increasing number of 4 year players. After the tumultuous offseason last year (2 lost assistants, 4 players who had to be replaced in the spring) and even more tumultuous regular season, I see no news as good news for the BU program. I'm ready for a drama-free season, and I think the quiet offseason is getting that off to a good start.

Only if he is the Matt Salley of the last 10 games and not the Matt Salley we had before that. I am satisfied with out roster and I would like to see some stability.

I'd just like to remind everyone, we had 'overcommitted' last year. Then we found out players were leaving. I'm not saying its going to happen, but rather that it could.

The earth 'could' explode tomorrow. Last year we had a very good idea that Buycks and Williams weren't going to make grades, that Fears was a j-rk, and that Ray was still getting high. There are no indications that anyone is having the off-court or classroom issues that we had last year. As another poster said, we should be hoping for stability. I am.

Fair enough, but hoping for stability doesn't create it. I'm just being realistic, that when our weakness is is big men, and we sign only guards, somethings probably up. And this is coming from a proponent of a 4 guard offense if the setting is right.

Or it could be that Les has confidence in the bigs that we already have and we might be running a 4 guard offense 90% of the time next year...who knows?

Anyone like me... who doesn't know anyone on the "inside"... I honestly can say I did NOT have a 'very good idea' about Buycks and Williams, was maybe suspicious of RB, and well Fears - yea, I thought it was understood going in who he was but thought we had already accepted him for what he could do on the floor.

But so this brings me to the question... what things should I have a 'very good idea' about in regards to the current players on the roster now?

                        Thanks in advance.

                          Just going along here...

I disagree that the signing will be a Matt Salley type of inside player. I think that the player (either HS or JUCO) would be a forward (6'6- 6'7 ) who can run the floor in a transition game and score. With AT coming onto the scene next year, this type of player (forward) would fill a need in JL's system.

Ditto! My sentiments exactly. I had NO idea last year would become such a recruiting fiasco. Here's hoping this year is different.
