Here's an article detailing how Tennessee, arguably the best womens college basketball program, ratting to the NCAA to try to bring down UCONN arguably the only other womens program that make an argument otherwise as to who's tops.
Once the NCAA investigated, the numerous incidents and eleven NCAA violations that Tennessee had alleged, all were ruled unfounded by the NCAA except one (giving a recruit a tour of the ESPN offices was deemed improper and a secondary (minor) violation only, because all other students at UConn weren't likewise given that opportunity!).
In the end, the findings were so minimal that it does appear to be egg on the faces of the people at Tennessee who made such a big deal out of what is clearly nothing more than the same kind of minor incident that goes on everywhere.
This brings one to recall how the NCAA swooped onto BU campus in the summer of 2005 digging for some evidence of some alleged violations -- only to find nothing to support what was alleged, but to stumble on the errant pay records and whip that into a big issue nonetheless.
I hope some day it will be made public who ratted on BU as there are a few individuals who fall under suspicion.....
