  • Coach of Bucknell University Resigns

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell men's basketball coach Pat Flannery announced his retirement after 14 years at his alma mater.

Congrats on a fine career, fellow Kansas-beater!!!
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

Bucknell has always been a favorite of mine and Pat Flannery is a class act. I hope they hire from within because I've always been curious to see what Skip Prosser's son, Mark, could do as head coach.

As a side note, it was a very emotional game when Mark Prosser (Bucknell Assistant) and Bucknell came to Wake Forest this year just a few months after Prosser's father (Wake Forest Coach, Skip Prosser) unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack. I love and miss Skip Prosser so much that I follow any team that contains some of his legacy. This includes Bucknell (for his son), the Dallas Mavericks (Josh Howard), New Orleans Hornets (Chris Paul), and of course Dino Gaudio and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Definitely keep me posted on the status of the head coaching vacancy at Bucknell!
