Which is far more than I can say for Keno Davis, who didn't even bother showing up to Drake's postseason banquet. I don't begrudge him for taking the job at Providence at all, but I do have an issue with skipping the postseason banquet for the kids who just made you a millionaire.Onward and Upward!

I share your opinions about Hinson being a good guy, but I disagree with many people's opinion about his firing. Hinson had some really outstanding teams and failed to make the NCAA tourney. He also had two big wins in his regular season career: a neutral court win over Wisconsin and a final Hammons Student Center win over Drake. That is 2 games in nine years. Yes he could win the games he was supposed to but had trouble with the big one.
In the two seasons he was "snubbed" he didn't win a coference game vs. the #1 or #2 team in the Valley which made his resume very weak when the Valley was getting multiple bids.
Is Hinson maybe the unluckiest coach in NCAA history, maybe, but he had several chances to push his team over the hump and, quite frankly, he didn't get it done.
I love to research the history of the MVC, and the Bears are an interesting team to look back at. EVERY coach in their MVC program history won 20 games at least once. They have a great history and their fan base grew tired of Hinson attending media luncheons in North Carolina while Jim Les and Chris Lowery were at AAU tourneys recruiting.
In Hinson's nine years at MSU, he owns three of MSU's worst season records. I don't blame them for not settling. I wish them good luck.

When Mo State got "snubbed" with an RPI of 21 in 2006, they finished in a tie for 2nd place with both SIU and Creighton. The Bears beat both SIU and Creighton that season. ( I believe for seeding of the MVC tourney, SIU was #2, Mo State was #3 and Creighton was #4)
They did lose to first place Wichita State twice though. So you had the #1 part right.
And that year they had 4 wins against the top 50, which was much better than Texas A&M's or UAB's or even Utah's State's 1 win against the top 50 or Arizona's 2.

You think Anthony Slack thinks highly of Coach Hinson? Would he have nice compliments for Berruh? hahahahahDinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10
