    I agree w/ DC...

And why can't we just figure out a way ala Dana Altman to get everyone some time...maybe in a 40-min of h e l l style where we press and trap from end to end and run the floor consistently...that would give us a chance to rotate 2 and 3 bigs at a time (incl. Theron) and rotate all of our guards in fresh and just continue to attack the opponent...

I have heard great coaches like Bo Ryan, Bob Knight, and John Calipari say this...."Why matchup with the other team when we can make them matchup with us" and I totally agree...if we out-condition the other teams, we can outrun them and outwork them and they then can't afford to play bigger than us because they can't keep up...

We're playing to our strength of having a multi-guard system and as far as I am concerned whether we were to get another big or not is besides the point...the system we run is guard heavy, and as many say, you're better off to recruit guys that fit the system than guys who do not

Amen to that. Ask the Mavericks how matching up with a team playing small and quick worked out for them in the first round of the playoffs last year. That being said, we either need to do a better job on the boards or consistently get turnovers and limit turnovers. If we're playing small with depth, I really like the idea of the press to help create more turnovers to offset any rebounding disadvantage.

More i think about it you dont see examples of this.... is it because not everyone has the luxury for that fifth year or if they need a medical thereafter their out of luck...but isnt that the risk you take with any redshirt?... besides with a medical you can still loby for a sixth... I just keep thinking of the times you hear "a juco is ordinary only going to be productive his last year"
Redshirting a juco is just a bad idea. First of all if they aren't going to sign if they are getting redshirted when they get on campus. A juco expects to get playing time right away in most cases. Yes, it is true that they don't often develop fast enough and aren't good until their senior year, but these kids want to play Div. 1 instantly. This year was a bit of rarity in all of our jucos, and our emergency ended in getting some players that weren't able to contribute alot right away. Theron was the best juco, and one of the better players on the team this year. I think because Les didn't have much time he had to sign some players that weren't quite ready yet. Most of the time a juco will contribute more than an underclassman(especially freshmen). Of course our team last year is an exception once again!

Am I hearing people joining my helter skelter bandwagon. I've been yelling for a end to end press for awhile now. It worked against Tulsa the first game when we were trying to come back. Imagine if we have the bodies to do that all game long. Now that would be fun to watch!

I'm getting tired of all the posts that say they are worried about all this small guard play and we are going to be hurting on rebounds and around the basket. What happened to excitement and anticipation that we got from the CBI and watching David Collins play. What happened to the hype of Anthony Thompson. Granted both are very unproven but to who...us...the audience...the fans. For all we know JL has a very good reason for wanting depth in the guard position, like having an extreme amount of confidence in AT, DC, RA, WE, SS, and even TW (someone who contributed greatly to rebounds last year. No offense to Matt Salley, I liked him a lot, but of the 3 shoes needed to filled I'd say MS's are the easiest especially with that many guys who can improve over the offseason. A guy who can penetrate and drive like JC and DR is hard to come by. Besides what "big" are you expecting to get this year that can contribute immediately...no one. I'm happy with having a guard class. We need to have extreme depth in the position that runs this team, and last year we didn't really and it hurt us.

We have extreme potential to be a "well rounded" team next year, and JL knows about that potential more than any one of us. We're never going to get a Kevin Love or a Tyler Hansbrough so take what you get.
