Carbondale, kicked off team>>Commit to DePaul>>Boys to Men Prep>>Still committed to DePaul>>Prep school>>Still says committed to DePaul>> ends up at UTEP>>John Logan JC>>??
Wherever he ends up next year will be the 7th school the kid has committed to in the past 3 years (Carbondale, DePaul, BTMA, Prep school, UTEP, Logan, then?)
By the way.........Cass was the subject of one of the boldest online challenges in the history of BradleyFans....as someone predicted Cass would be the TOP non-BCS freshman in the nation, and I promised to mow the lawn of that prognosticator for a year if it came true.....and at UTEP, it proved to be an inaccurate prediction!
(read the very last line in this post )
By the way..Hobbs is one of the kids who played at Vashon and was linked to the use of ineligible players under Floyd Irons..
Hobbs and the others should help Logan be strong........
Manuel Cass is going to be playing at John A. Logan College, a junior college Carterville, IL (just east of Carbondale).
He may yet have ex-BU recruit and present Missouri State commit (who just signed a LOI) Derron Hobbs as a teammate.
There is a rumble that Hobbs may yet not have a passing test score, and may be headed to juco instead of Missouri State. No official word from MSU but Hobbs was planning to go to Logan even before the offer from Missouri State.
Hobbs was Cuonzo Martin's first verbal as the new coach at MSU.
Hobbs may still have one shot at passing the ACT, as there is one date remaining that the test is offered. He can take it on June 14, 2008, but the result may not be known until after the 4th of July, and that might make it hard to get the test score cleared through the NCAA Clearinghouse at that late date.
not that it matters, as I am sure BU is well set enough at the 4-5 spot, that I strongly suspect Manual Cass is now out of the recruiting picture...
But, the latest word was that Cass was enrolling at John A. Logan junior college (Carterville, IL), and the school themselves posted that Cass signed a junior college letter of intent, and was joining the team. http://74.125.95.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=us
The bio in this article is a bit exaggerated. It says--
The Flashes could find some more immediate help next season with the addition of transfer Manuel Cass, another 6-7 forward and a former top-50 prep prospect, who averaged 4.4 points and 12.3 minutes in 13 games as a freshman at UTEP last season. According to KSU, Cass has registered for the winter semester and is scheduled to attend his first class today. Under NCAA transfer rules, that would make Cass eligible to play his first game in a Flashes uniform next season as soon as the 2009 fall semester is completed in mid-December. He will have almost three full years of eligibility remaining. Cass, a native of Carbondale, Ill., had looks from Big East schools like Georgetown, Providence and Seton Hall before choosing UTEP. He was listed as the 29th best small forward in the country and a national top-150 prospect by Rivals.com and as the No. 21 power forward in the nation by Scout.com. Prior to his prep season at South Kent High School in Connecticut, Cass was part of Carbondale's run of three consecutive Illinois high-school state championships, including an All State junior season that saw him average 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists. Cass is an all-around, inside-outside player who could step right into a starting job at power forward when he becomes eligible.
Did I miss Carbondale High School's run of 3 consecutive Illinois high-school state championships?
Scout.com photoManuel Cass enrolls at Kent State And sometimes love recruits. Kent State is the latest example of that as this week 6-7 Manuel Cass enrolled for the second semester with the Golden Flashes. Last season Cass began his college...
