  • New Interview: Jordan Prosser on Tom Crean

Prosser from Eureka is one of Indiana's top targets, and now with the new head coach,
here's some of what Jordan Prosser says:

"As a junior this year at Eureka he says he averaged in the neighborhood of
20 points and 12 rebounds per game. He says not a lot has changed in his recruitment
other than the IU coaching transition.
He is hearing frequently from Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

"I have been talking to the same schools," said Prosser. "Baylor started talking with me
Tuesday and Kentucky has been on me more and more. But it has been the same Big Ten schools."
"Wisconsin and Iowa are really on me and Purdue talks to me quite a bit," said Prosser.
Indiana will have to begin from square one with new coach Tom Crean.
"I have never really talked to him," said Prosser. "All I know is he worked under Tom Izzo
as an assistant then went to Marquette."
But Prosser is pretty familiar with the school and basketball program.
"Indiana had offered me before when Coach Sampson was there," said Prosser.
"I just don't know the situation yet and hope to get a hold of them soon somehow."
"I will probably wait till right before my senior season starts and get it over with then," said Prosser."

When is the last time Prosser mentioned Bradley in an interview? Anyone closer to this know if Bradley has any chance at all, you wouldnt think so by what he is saying?

It doesn't seem like he's that interested in BU, but I did see him sitting next to a "representative of the university" at the high school state finals a couple weeks back.

Another new story on Prosser among this morning's insider/premium reports,.

"Prosser Adding Offers, Watching IU Situation
Eureka, Ill., big man Jordan Prosser was in Bloomington last weekend for an AAU team practice...
Like a handful of coveted Division I recruits, Jordan Prosser is taking a wait-and-see approach with Indiana.

“I’m going to wait and find out what happens in June,” Prosser said in reference to IU’s appearance before the NCAA Infractions Committee.
“If they don’t make the NCAA Tournament for two years, a lot of kids are probably going to put them on the back burner.
That’s what most kids want to do – go to the (NCAA) tournament and play.”

He said he has offers from Indiana, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Xavier, and just recently added one from Baylor.

Wisconsin has been a program that has shown plenty of interest, and it’s obvious the feelings are mutual.
Prosser said he’s made four or five trips to Madison for unofficial visits.

“I like Wisconsin – it’s really cool up there,” Prosser said. “I really like Coach (Bo) Ryan.”

“I’m looking at the style of play of the different schools and how I could fit in there, how I’d get along with everybody,” Prosser said.
“I want to see if the coach is easy to get along with. I’d like to find a program that gets up and down the floor and doesn’t play slow.”

Prosser said he’s still keeping a close eye on Indiana, and he’ll be better able to evaluate Coach Tom Crean’s program as a possibility after the NCAA rules in June.

“I think I’ll decide right before my senior year so I can get it over and not have to worry about it during my senior season,” Prosser said."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did we not offer this kid a scholarship? I mean we're not even listed among the offers he's recieved in this article. Good for him if he wants to go to a BCS school but I don't like the fact that during the end of the season he was a guest of Bradley's, and now it just seems like we've been cast aside because there is no more basketball to be played this year. I duno if I'm wrong or not but it seems like he almost just wanted the attention of being a recruit at a BU game and wasn't considering us at all.

It could just be the way these writers do their stories that lower level schools are omitted. I am sure he has offers from a number of non-BCS schools like Bradley, but the writer feels the readers don't care and don't want to hear about it.

I am not predicting he will go to a midmajor school. He will probably take the highest offer he gets like most kids do. But don't be surprised if future stories do mention Bradley or other mids.

                I'm sure we've offered...
But honestly...if Prosser is getting legitimate recruiting interest from UNC, Wisconsin, Purdue, Kentucky, and dozens of other BCS schools at this point in time, and he's projected as a 4-star player that would have an impact in those types of programs, why in the world would he seriously be considering going to BU?
Les is recruiting him...he's been at a number of games...maybe he and his family are BU fans and he really enjoys watching games at Carver. I guess I don't feel like he 'owes' us anything simply because he has been at a few BU games. If you want to feel like he is using us for some good seats, or something to that effect, that's fine...It doesn't bother me.
Maybe he has a bad summer in AAU, maybe he then isn't seen as an impact player at the high major level by the time his senior year rolls around, maybe those ACC and Big Ten offers are pulled or have strings attached to them...If so, then he's got a starring role waiting for him here at BU...until those things happen (which is unlikely), he should spend his time looking at the UNCs, Kentuckys, and Wisconsins of the world...and he certainly shouldn't feel like he is slighting BU by not bringing them into the conversation right now...he knows where we are.
