According to the rules if he did stop his dribble and then drop it then he cannot pick it up. Now how did he drop it I guess is the question. Did he touch the ball with both hands or not? If he did, it should be a violation.
This was the play that I was trying to remember when Billy Packer screamed that the players don't know the rule. Packer claimed that if the dribbler lost possession, he is still allowed to pick up the ball again, but that he cannot advance the ball.
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
I'm also a big Raftery fan. Personally, I like Jay Bilas most of the time, although some of the quotes I've seen from him about mid-majors seem pretty stupid. Steve Lavin is one of my favorite color guys.
did anyone else notice during the pregame stuff on ESPN? when they were talking about motivation for this game and Bilas made reference to the job Calipari had done this year. Knight looked like he rolled his eyes at Dickie V, while Bilas was talking....kind of funny.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Lavin annoys the crap out of me.
Bilas is alright but tends to overuse phrases... i.e. "He's not a good (defender/scorer/rebounder/passer/etc.), he's a great (defender/scorer/rebounder/passer/etc.)."
Has a team ever started out in anything but man-to-man when Bill Raftery is on the call?
"And, Gus, Bradley goes ... 2-3 zone???"
Gus and Bill would be incredible.
It's OK if you zone.
"And Gus, Bradley goes with a soft 2-3 zone, with MANTOMAN PRINCIPLES!
Someone find this on youtube: Gus and Bill did a regular season game where Adam Morrison hit a game-winner. Insanity. You could go deaf from a thing like that.
There's not too many good PBP guys left. Nantz is tolerable. Lundquist is good, but he probably needs some naps too. Enberg is already comatose. For the love of God, someone tell CBS to put Gus Johnson in there.
