I seem to remember an Ed Hightower who ref'd Valley games back in the 80's....dont remember him with so much hair thought
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

I think the hair is fake, but he is so animated......when he makes a call, you never mistake what he's trying to signal, and for a guy who is getting up in age, he really gets up and down the court to watch the action closely.

No doubt. You can't put a price on experience.

they listed him at 310 lbs, but I have to think maybe he's even bigger.
First off..what a great championship game..

Second... the demented part of me would like to see Niles play a one on one match with the back up center at Indiana... cant remember his name but he is a big boy as well. The tiebreaker might have to be settled at an all you can eat buffet.
          Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

That would be quite a battle. I like Beninator's tiebreaker idea.

DeAndre ended his season sadly with successive losses to lower ranked teams in the Big Ten tourney and NCAA, and some say the team was cursed by both the phone-gate and the recruiting shenanigan that landed them Gordon.
Niles ended his season also to a lower seeded team, and he was also involved in some extra-curricular activity that brought some bad pub to his team.

Here are the infamous photos of Pierre Niles suckerpunching an unruly fan...

the sign is pretty funny, too.

By the way, I think it needs to be noted....

Kansas' basketball program is presently on probation and still under penalties from MAJOR infractions
which include impermissible benefits and recruiting violations (and they remain under probation until 2009).
Thus the very players they win the national championship with were recruited illegally and received impermissible benefits....
I guess it DOES pay to CHEAT!!!!

It does, but it pays more if you never get caught.

It would've been even funnier if they'd won the game ... and correctly spelled Memphis.
