K, I don't get it. We ended the season on a great run and with a win. 3 months ago I wasn't sure Tulsa would end with 17 wins or win a game in the C-USA tournament - let alone make a post season run into April. Only 3 teams end the season with a win and for the 3rd time we' were one of them.

Not too mention the series with Bradley was a roller coaster. Got blown out on the road, came back and it looked like the same thing. Then it was back and forth until the fouling started - which allowed time for the anticipation to build up. I would have been disappointed if they didn't storm the court frankly.

This was the first time Tulsa has had a reason to take to the court since 2003, and I'm glad the kids used it. After football games the crowd is welcome on the field, so I think we "storm" (meaning walk out to tell the players good game and throw a ball with our kids) the field more often than not.

Hey, it's "just" the CBI but whatever league, bowl or tournament my team plays in they dang well better play like it matters - because to a fan, it does. So storm away boys, storm away.

I disagree, Jesse. I can guarantee that we (our student section) would NOT have stormed the court after winning the CBI. We had joked around before the championship started about how foolish we'd look if we did it.. I'm sure others could verify this, but we made several jokes about storming the court and hanging banners from the rafters... The CBI was a great time, but it's not a time to storm the court. I just felt embarrassed for the students when they rushed the court...

Now, if we had pulled out the upset against top ten Michigan State on Dec. 4th, I might have made a break for it...
Here's the deal, Wyoming for football, Bradley for basketball.

I understand what you all are saying, and I know you see this huge BUT right around the corner.... BUT, I would have stormed the court had BU won game one and then we swept the championship series in game 2. I wouldn't have even thought twice about it, and here's why:

        1. I was in the student section when we were ALL ready to storm the court vs. SIU in the conference tourny title game and never got the chance to.

        2. This would have been my (our) last chance to do it. and most importantly,

        3. Why not enjoy the moment to finally celebrate with the players you have sat in classes with, watched play, and put their hearts into entertaining US and winning games for 2, 3, and 4 years? Think about it.. 75% of people who follow BU basketball would hate to see us celebrate (like 99% of other college students would...) DRINKING with the team! And another 50% would hate to see us storm the court. While I would prefer both , let them (and US if we won) enjoy the moment and celebrate!

Bottom line is whether its the CBI at our home court or the South Padre Invitational in a High School gym on an island -- if we were lifting a trophy in the air and it had our name on it as champions, I'm celebrating.. On and off the court. Period.

I hope you weren't TOO ready to storm the court vs. SIU in 2006 because if I recall correctly, that game was all but out of reach with 10 minutes left. Either way, the comparison between winning a title to clinch an NCAA tourney spot and winning the CBI is not even close.

Careful, Stryker. Dem's fighting words for some folks around here.....

Can 7 fans over 40 that all walk with a hitch in their gait actually storm the court....had we done that in South Padre I afraid Braves 12 wouldn't have been able to golf the next day.

What I choose to do is re-create the
'kids lining the court" at PCC while in SP. As the players made their way through the adutorium by the concession stand I happened to be standing right in thier path....I "low fived em" and when Ruffin shuffled past me I said...." the kids couldn't make it so I'm filling in"...he laughed and cracked a smile.

I think "storm the court" is the operative phrase here...we might have "gingerly made our way to the court", but I'm afraid my stormin' days are long since behind me!

You look like you could still do some stormin' DRU...
