Someone else linked to this story, but I will ask the obvious question....
what is wrong with this picture...
Chicago Tribune writer Bob Sakamoto says this in his column...
""I was talking to (SIU) coach Chris Lowery last week and
he said that Ryan Hare might be committing to SIU later in the month."
and then it goes on to say that Kevin Dillard was trying to contact Hare
"to tell him that I'd love to play with him, and that it would be very good for our recruiting class.
"If he becomes a Saluki, I know we'll complement each other very well and do some damage together.""
I realize that this may not be viewed as Chris Lowery publicly talking about recruits, but in all actuality,
that's exactly what this is....
Lowery should be furious, and the NCAA should check into this, as all head coaches try like heck to be sure
their words about recruits don't get publicized and get printed in the paper, as
it may be viewed as a serious recruiting violation. How many times do we just see
"the school or the coach is unable to comment on recruits until they have signed their LOI's"
Here we have through an intermediary, the words of the coach talking about a potential recruit abd ending up in the newspaper....??
