Here's the list...not one Missouri Valley player was invited to the Portsmouth Invitational Showcase
There are DII players, scoring guards who average 9 ppg and shoot 39% from the floor, big men who average 7.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, and a few guys you have probably never heven heard of like Parfait Bitee!
Too bad they didn't see fit to invite at least a couple of the Valley's best seniors.
ps--- not one of the invitees who were at last year's Portsmouth Invitational was drafted in the first round, and only four got drafted at all. This "tourney" is more for those who don't have much chance of being drafted, as those who are pretty certain to be drafted have as much chance of playing poorly just one day and hurting their chance.
As there is invariably kids who drop out at the last minute with injury or on advice of their agents, some other players are always added at a late date, so we still may see Falker, Slack, Coleman, JC, or Ruff.
The best example of a late add-on doing well is Adam Haluska who in ended up benefitting by being on the All-Tournament Team at Portsmouth (2007) and being drafted #43 overall last year!
pps-- the website draftexpress.com also notes the absence of Randall Falker and puts him on the 1st Team Al-Valley and compares to Renaldo Balkman.
