  • Final Four Dunking Injury

You are at the Final Four, you are the backup PG, and these next couple games are the most important of your life, and very, very important for your team.

The practice is over and the coach tells the frershmen they can go out and dunk for the press people and onlookers, but your senior backup PG goes against the coach's instructions.

While dunking for fun, he slips, breaks his kneecap, and his college career is over. Really a tough break at a very bad time.

"I told our freshmen they could go dunk," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "Rodrick (a senior) jumps out there,
and he goes and tries to dunk. I'm disappointed - we do that every tournament - but I'm disappointed, certainly
hurt for him. Guys practice their whole lives to get to participate in a Final Four."

"Rodrick Stewart slipped on a wet spot on the Alamodome floor as he went up to attempt an acrobatic slam dunk
at the end of Kansas University’s shootaround Friday afternoon.
Just like that, the senior’s college basketball career was over"
"I feel terrible for him,” said KU coach Bill Self, indicating the late-practice dunk drill was supposed to be
just for the freshmen, but Stewart “got excited (and went in for the dunk)."
