  • BU postseason banquet- Tues. 4/8

The final men's basketball event of the season is Tuesday, April 8, the Men's Postseason Basketball Banquet. It is at the Michel Student Center Ballroom. Drinks at 5:30 pm and dinner at 6:00 pm.
This is always a great event to end the season. They should have some video pieces, postseason team awards, and some great stories from Dave Snell and Coach Les. And it is a way to honor the players one more time.

They still have tickets available. It's $25 per person. If anyone is interested, call the Braves Club office Monday, as I think it will sell out by Tuesday. Call (309) 677 2667.

    Great event to attend!

But warning to non-koolaide drinkers... it is a very PRO BRADLEY event.

I would liked to have attended but it was too early as I had to work late , this time of the year is very busy for me, hopefully someone can share their experiences with those of us that were unable to attend.

I just got home from my first time at this event. It was a nice dinner with a variety of speeches from our seniors, the coaching staff, Dave Snell, (and I thought most interestingly) Joe Billy McDade-- who was given the AJ Robertson Award for this year.

MVP, Scholastic, and Braves Club awards went to JC.
JC & DR got basketballs in appreciation.
Matt Salley was Defensive Player of the Year
Andrew Warren was named Most Improved Player
(The superfan was present and noticeable, and Andrew Warren did an impression of him, which was hilarious)

They showed a nice video with highlights from the season.

All of the players were able to attend, and it was good to see the seniors again.

Only bradleyfans posters I recognized were Naptown24 and Big Mike. Hehe, then again, they're about the only ones I recognize on sight anyway (MacabreMob the other).

I was there fish, but since we don't know each other, I wouldn't have expected you to know!

I was sitting across the table from Dave Reynolds, and had an interesting conversation with him. I won't share everything we discussed, but Dave said he does read the message boards (both this one and the JS board) and uses them as a source of information. He admitted that he doesn't always have the inside scoop, so he's not above perusing the boards for data he can use in an upcoming story.

And one other thing.....a little bit of SuperFan goes a long, long way!!!

            Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggg ggghhhhhhhhhh!

I'm guessing there were a lot of posters like you that I haven't met who were there.

I was very near the bar which was both useful and appropriate.

I just got back from the banquet, and it was a great night.
As Fish said, Joe Billy McDade was awarded the AJ Robertson award for lifetime achievement by a former player. It was well deserved, as I can't think of many former players who have represebted BU and been as successful in life as Judge McDade.

Jeremy Crouch swept most of the team awards, for MVP, Karl Watson academic award, and the Braves Club award for community activity.
And Andrew Warren won the Most Improved award.

The dinner was good, and Dave Snell and all the others involved were fantastic. The room was packed again this year.

I was there. Spoke briefly with Da Coach, O&B74 and Big Mike.

I really wanted to introduce myself to Paul Unruh and luckily sat a table away from him. He was very nice and very engaging in conversation. Maybe someday I could buy the man a cup of coffee and listen to some stories.... if he'd share.

Anyway - sorry I didn't see ya Fish - I woulda said hi and maybe bought you a jar.

I gotta say one last thing, to those that attended. After all that goes on at this event, things talked about, clips seen, people assembled with and interacting with.... how does it make you feel?

Me - It makes me feel so proud of not just the players, coaches, teams.... it makes me so proud of Bradley and being a part of it.

I had a great time last night. Thanks to Da Coach for having me as his guest. This was my second banquet in a row and two things really stood out to me. First off, Dave Snell. He is just awesome, I could listen to his stories/impressions for hours. Secondly, I've come to realize more and more how much passion there is for Bradley basketball. The place was packed and from the president on down to the fans there is just so much respect/pride in being a Bradley fan, it's a great thing.

I agree, '06. It is something that is not appreciated by the casual fan, or people outside of Peoria. Bradley has incredible, supportive fans.

Fans were asked to stand and be acknowledged if the drove of rode a bus for 9 hours each way to Tulsa, and there were plenty of them.

Personally I'd just get my OWN cup of coffee instead of sharing his....but thats just me.

Just be thankful you didn't have to listen to SuperFan bellow at every opportunity last night, especially during the awards ceremony!

Or even worse, just imagine travelling with him on a bus anywhere...

I rode with SF to Tulsa. Everything said is true and then some. If a little Super Fan goes a long way...what do I (and all the others on Bus 1 to Tulsa) get for 18 hours of him in a 24 hour period?
