  • Did CBI keep Crouch out of 3 pt contest?

Last night ESPN aired the annual 3 point contest/slam dunk competition. All of the participants were college seniors. There were several kids from mids that participated, but none from the Valley.

As I sat and considered possible senior MVC participants, it struck me that Crouch should probably be there. I had momentarly forgotten that the CBI was still in progress and thought maybe the MVC was getting slighted (there certainly is precedence for that ).

Do you guys think that if the CBI was not in progress, JC would have been a participant? (I know it doesn't mean squat, but its nice to see some Valley representation in these made for TV events.)

We'll probably never know. I doubt the NCAA people who make the selection of the participants will reveal who they considered. But JC's 3-point percentage this year was not as good as last year's NCAA leading 50%, so maybe if they just looked at percentages he might not have been invited anyway.
2 years ago, when Lawrence Wright was invited to the dunk competetion, it occurred just after Bradley had been eliminated from the Sweet 16. If they had not lost that 2nd weekend, he wouldn't have been able to participate.
