Most of these conversations remind me of my Grandpa constantly talking about how if he were a coach, how much better things would be. Keeping in mind he has no coaching experience. He also has no understanding of zone defenses and when they are useful.
We all want Bradley to suceed. But to those who constantly deride, I ask what would you do if you were coach? Would you have convinced POB to stay, gotten Fears and Williams into school, Brown not to enjoy herbal refreshment. Would you be a good enough salesman to parlay a Sweet 16 run into a brand new facilities (keeping in mind that these facilites haven't changed, EVER).
The point is everyone second guesses, and everyone has their beliefs. But most fans wish their teams do better, but do not spend their lives deriding everything that goes on at the school.Charge On Charge On Bradley!

I dont care how we got to a third consecutive 20 win season all I care about is we have and when JL and staff goes out recruiting to juniors sophomores etc they can say hey we have 3 straight 20 win seasons, were doing something special at BU and we want you to be a huge part of what we are building.
How we have gotten to the 20 wins for the most part will not be known to the recruit nor remembered by most but that 20+ win season for 3 straight years and a sweet 16 wrapped up in that is strong amunition to present to a recruit.

same numbers, different trend?
percentage of games won, last three years.
2005-06 - 66.7% - 33 games played
2006-07 - 62.9% - 35 games played
2007-08 - 55.3% - 38 games played
are we trending upward or downward? same information. many interpretations. either way, three winning seasons in a row = good.
edit: i've since changed the numbers to reflect our final loss.Last edited by jmp; 04-04-2008, 10:55 PM.

Originally posted by jmp View Posti wanted to expand on the Ruth analogy a bit. Marris broke the record. he had the benefit of more games but the game changes. records must adapt with the game. a 22 win season is a good thing. three 22 win seasons ins a row is also a good thing. but using the current season with its 22 wins, doesn't make it a great thing. same way you can't use Marris' 61 home runs to say he was a better ball player than Ruth.
Yes it is a "good" thing, but as you said, it is not a "great thing"!
Let's just make it 22, 3 years in a row. Which is very "good", but not "great" IMO
.
Go Braves.
