When was the last time BU had three consecutive seasons of 21 wins or more??

I don't have my press guide with me at work.

Was it in the early/mid-90's under JM?

You play enough games, in this case 37 and you are ok(?), sooner or later you get there.

Tough question, huh??.....there will be very few of you readers/posters who will recall ever having seen a game during such a stretch....
(the Molinari years included one with 20 wins)
so here's your answer...........just mouse over to read...

The last time Bradley had 3 consecutive season of 21 wins or more was
        1959-1960 - 27 wins
        1960-1960 - 21 wins
        1961-1962 - 21 wins
So Jim Les has done something that hadn't been done for nearly 50 years at BU

But the last time BU had 3 consecutive seasons of 22 wins or more was
        1948-1949 - 27 wins
        1949-1950 - 32 wins
        1950-1951 - 32 wins
...so BU is on the verge of something that hasn't happened in almost 60 years at BU...since they had laces in the ball!!

Grassman, I don't know about you, but I'm glad the kids are playing 37 games and the loyal fans are getting a chance to watch them play in April. GO BRAVES

I gotta tell you guys, there's some folks on here who should be working for the Obama/Clinton/McCain camps as spinmeisters.....

It's not that I'm saying that this season was a bad season, but I think we might be talking ourselves into a false sense of accomplishment. Yes, we might win a tournament, that's great, but it's a consolation prize in comparison to what we all want: another chance for a run in the big dance.
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

Agreed, however unlike the Phillip Gilbert fiasco a few years back, I think that injuries truly did derail what would have been potentially an NCAA season. I am fully confident this team would have had a much more successful season had we not had the injuries (especially the Warren injury) that we had this year. I know people don't want to hear the injury excuse, but I think it would be remiss to say that it didn't have a lot to do with our failure.

I guess what I am saying is that I am more inclined to give the staff somewhat of a pass on this season considering how well we played when whole (both now and in the middle of the conference season) and how many games were missed by significant players. Had this been the end result of a completely healthy and controversy-free season, I think some of these gripes might be more warranted.
              Onward and Upward!

I think most understand it is what it is....no false sense of anything that I see. We are playing and enjoying what we are seeing...simple as that.

We lost out chance for bigger and better things...but thats over. This is all geared to the future IMO. Like JL has said...its a tourney and someone has to win it...why not us.

Exactly. The only reason this streak exists is because of the exempt tournaments we have played in last year and this year. Where before the repeal of that rule 3 years ago, we would have only been allowed to play in 1 during this streak.

So is Babe Ruth's home run record still the one to beat? Because all the others who came later with more home runs did it by playing more games, so with this logic, they shouldn't be taken seriously.

Bradley still has the chance to finish with 21 or 22 wins. Why are we looking for reasons to discredit that?
If we looked at every team with 20+ wins, we would find an awful lot of them that racked up many of those wins against the weakest D1 schools, or even non-D1 schools. But I don't see people attaching an asterisk to their records.

I don't think anyone mentioned an asterik or not to take it seriously. This is the first time since tornado mentioned that Bradley has won the 21+ games three years in a row. A fact is a fact. It is a "counting" statistic (its not a record), for lack of a better term, and in that vain then it hasn't been done in a while. It is also a fact that college basketball teams play a lot more games now than they did in the past. I don't think anyone can dispute either of those things.

Hey, this is a Bradley board and gosh darn it, every single time I ever say something good about Bradley --
and what I say is absolutely true, accurate, and cannot be disputed, immediately there are responses that discredit BU and the accomplishment that has been noted and downplays, disputes, or minimizes it.
Why is that? I can tell you from a medical (and psychological) perspective that it is not healthy. It's just plain bashing.
It is referred to as being a Negative Nellie, a nay-sayer, a bellyacher, misanthrope...and all kinds of other unflattering terms.
So I am curious why we see it every single time. Why not ONCE just let us have our party and celebrate without throwing
mud on it or wishing rain on our parade? I cannot imagine having a desire to be on someone's board every day yet always aim to be so negative.

I agree, I'm a Bradley fan. And we are playing post season basketball no matter which way you cut it. It used to be we'd get Freshman in, they'd struggle for the first few years, and finally build into something their senior year...usually just an NIT appearance. Then they'd be gone, and we'd have new Freshman that struggle and eventually we build into something.

What we have here, is three consecutive seasons of post season play, we brought in a bunch of new guys, and while they didn;t get us in the NCAA or NIT we at least get something out of it.

I also think next year's team will be very competitive, most of the rotation will have been on this year's team...and that is important.

It is a step in the right direction, and we are consistently making post seasons, now we can hopefully bump that up.
                          Charge On Charge On Bradley!

I agree that everything shouldn't be picked apart, but there's no reason people shouldn't voice their opinions when they see holes in others' logic. What these people are saying about the 20 win seasons is correct. I would rather no one notice that aspect of it but it happens. Everything on this board can't be nice, bright, red Kool-Aid.
